PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
Reporting to the appropriate site supervisor, the Heavy Equipment Operator will be responsible to ensure Aecon Civil Construction Corp. achieves their general and specific project requirements, on the Deerfoot Trail Improvements Project.
***We are looking for finish Excavator/ Dozer Operators, as well as Loader operators.***
***Expected start date: Immediately***
What You'll Do Here:
- Slopping, trenching, digging, surfaces levelling, load hauling, performing excavations and backfill
- Carry out excavation and grading work with precision, ensuring compliance with designated grades
- Read grade plans and use grade stakes in measuring the amount of earth to be moved
- Perform pre-trip inspections to ensure equipment is safe and working properly
- Operate heavy equipment safely
- Follow directions that are spoken or given by hand signals
- Continuously changing work tasks
What You Bring to the Team:
- 10 years of experience performing final grade using Excavator and Dozer
- 3-5 years of experience on a Civil Earthworks Project
- Ability to work 6 days a week, day and night shift as needed
- 10+ hours work days, overtime required as needed
- Physical strength and stamina
- Manual dexterity
- A safety-conscious attitude
- The ability to work with others in a team
- Repetitive movement
- Able to perform in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work a significant number of hours throughout the day
- Ability to lift and work with materials weighing up to 50lbs
- Ability to work in all weather conditions and environments
