About the Role
We are currently seeking an Assistant Controller to join our team! Reporting to the Finance Partner, you will play a key role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the firm's financial information while helping drive efficiency and supporting the growth of the accounting function.
Your primary responsibilities will include:

Assisting with preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Supporting month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis
- Maintaining and reviewing general ledger accounts to ensure accurate financial reporting
- Assisting with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
- Supporting payroll, government remittances, and other compliance requirements
- Assisting with the preparation of year-end working papers and coordinating with external advisors
- Monitoring and improving accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Identifying and implementing process efficiencies and automation opportunities
- Supporting accounting systems administration and future technology initiatives
- Preparing management reports and analyzing financial results to support decision-making
- Acting as a resource and subject matter expert on internal accounting processes, systems, and reporting activities
- Participating in special projects and other accounting initiatives as required
Required Experience, Qualifications and Characteristics:

Completion of a Post-Secondary Degree
- CPA designation or actively working towards completion
- 3-5 years of internal accounting experience, preferably in a professional services environment
- Strong understanding of financial reporting, accounting principles, and internal controls
- Proficient in QuickBooks Online and related APIs for full-cycle accounting
- Experience supporting budgeting and forecasting processes
- Experience with Power BI or similar financial reporting tools
- Advanced proficiency using MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Experience working with systems such as CaseWare and iFirm is preferred
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams
- Continuous improvement mindset with a passion for innovation and efficiency, including a desire to understand and utilize AI tools
Annual Salary Range: $60,000 to $90,000
