Position Summary
The Thriving Families Team Lead provides leadership, supervision, and program oversight for the Thriving Families team, which delivers prevention and early intervention services that strengthen families, promote healthy child and youth development, build resilience, and increase access to supportive community resources.
The Thriving Families Team Lead is responsible for supervising and supporting the Family & Youth Program Facilitators and Case Manager, and other infant, child and youth workers ensuring high-quality, responsive, and evidence-informed service delivery. This position provides guidance related to program planning, case consultation, participant support, community partnerships, outcome measurement, and continuous quality improvement.
Working from a family-centred, strengths-based, trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and prevention-focused approach, the Team Lead supports staff in delivering services that enhance caregiver capacity, strengthen relationships, promote youth well-being, and reduce barriers for children, youth, and families accessing supports.
The Thriving Families Team Lead ensures programming remains responsive to community needs, participant experiences, funding requirements, and organizational priorities. The role requires strong leadership, collaboration, communication, and the ability to balance operational oversight with relationship-based practice.
Programming is delivered throughout Grande Prairie and surrounding communities, including schools, community facilities, partner agency locations, rural communities, and GPFES locations.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership and Staff Supervision
- Provide direct supervision, coaching, mentorship, and support to the Family & Youth Program Facilitators and Case Manager.
- Establish clear expectations, support professional growth, and promote accountability for quality service delivery.

Program Oversight and Development
- Provide leadership and oversight for family, child, youth, and support programming.

- Support the development, implementation, and evaluation of programs that strengthen:

Service Delivery Oversight
- Provide clinical-style consultation and operational guidance to the Case Manager – Intensive Supports.
- Support appropriate assessment, planning, referrals, and coordination of intensive services.
- Review individualized service plans and developmental support approaches to ensure they are participant-centered and aligned with best practices.
- Support coordination between supports, community agencies, schools, health professionals, and other service providers.
- Ensure services complement rather than duplicate existing community supports.
- Support staff in navigating complex family circumstances while maintaining a prevention and early intervention focus.
- Monitor caseloads to ensure participants receive meaningful and appropriate levels of support.
Family, Child, and Youth Programming Oversight
- Provide direction and support to the Family & Youth Program Facilitators in the planning and delivery of:
- Parenting education programs
- Caregiver education groups
- Child development programs
- Youth programs
- Community-based initiatives
- Ensure programming reflects current understanding of:

- Coordinate program schedules based on community needs, seasonal considerations, staffing resources, and service demand, while monitoring registrations and waitlists to ensure families have timely access to supports and identifying opportunities for additional programming where feasible.
Community Collaboration and Partnership Development
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with:

- Represent GPFES at community meetings, collaborative tables, and initiatives as assigned.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen coordinated service delivery and reduce barriers for families.

- Promote awareness of GPFES programs and services throughout Grande Prairie and surrounding communities.
Service Planning and Community Responsiveness
- Monitor community needs, service trends, participant feedback, and emerging issues impacting families.
- Support responsive programming decisions based on:
- Community demand

- Seasonal considerations
- School calendars
- Rural access needs
- Partner priorities
- Support rural service delivery when needs are identified and resources allow.
- Consider transportation barriers, weather conditions, community events, school calendars, agricultural seasons, and accessibility challenges when planning service delivery.
- Ensure programs remain flexible and responsive while maintaining organizational standards.
Documentation, Evaluation, and Reporting
- Ensure staff maintain accurate documentation related to:
- Participant records
- Attendance
- Service plans
- Referrals
- Outcomes
- Program evaluations
- Monitor program data and outcomes to assess effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Support preparation of internal reports, funding reports, and program summaries.
- Participate in quality improvement activities, evaluation processes, and outcome measurement initiatives.
- Use data and participant feedback to inform program decisions.
Organizational Leadership Responsibilities
- Participate as an active member of the GPFES leadership team.
- Support implementation of organizational priorities, strategic initiatives, and operational goals.

Qualifications
Education
Diploma or degree in one of the following preferred:

Equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience may be considered.
Experience
Preference will be given to candidates with experience in:

Requirements
The successful candidate must maintain:

- Reliable vehicle for travel throughout Grande Prairie and surrounding communities.
- Minimum $2,000,000 automobile liability insurance.
Working Conditions
- Full-time position (35 hours per week).
- Work occurs in office settings, schools, community facilities, partner agencies, and community locations.
- Regular travel throughout Grande Prairie and surrounding rural communities may be required.
- Occasional evening and weekend programming or community events may be required.
- Work may involve supporting staff and families experiencing complex social, developmental, and emotional challenges.
- Moderate lifting and transportation of program supplies may be required.

Pay: $30.00-$32.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
