The Impact You'll Make
As a Counsellor, you will be a trusted guide for individuals navigating personal, emotional, and life challenges. Your work will directly help clients gain clarity, develop coping strategies, and improve their overall quality of life. Whether you’re supporting someone through a crisis, helping a family strengthen their relationships, or guiding a student through academic stress, your role will be a catalyst for positive transformation.
What You'll Do
- Provide one-on-one and couples counselling sessions tailored to client needs.
- Conduct assessments to understand client concerns, strengths, and goals.
- Develop and implement personalized treatment or support plans.
- Use evidence-based therapeutic approaches such as CBT, solution-focused therapy, or other proven interventions and counseling techniques.
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records in compliance with ethical and legal standards.
- Collaborate with other professionals (e.g., social workers, educators, healthcare providers) to ensure holistic support.
- Facilitate workshops or support groups on topics such as stress management, communication skills, or grief therapy.
What You'll Bring
- A degree in counselling, psychology, social work, or a related field (master’s preferred).
- Registration or eligibility for registration with a recognized professional body (e.g., CCPA, provincial college).
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust quickly.
- Experience with diverse populations and an understanding of cultural sensitivity.
- Proficiency in using counselling tools, assessments, and digital case management systems.
- A calm, empathetic presence and the ability to remain grounded in challenging situations.
- Included in the job performance and counselling experience is the ability to provide a solid basis for Christian counselling when requested from a client.
