Parkers Bodyshop is seeking an experienced Autobody Painter to join our growing team. We are a well-established, family-owned dealership and ICBC-accredited collision repair facility located in Penticton, BC.
We offer a competitive flat-rate compensation package of $37.00–$40.00 per flat-rate hour, including our RRSP bonus plan. Compensation is based on experience, qualifications, certification, and demonstrated ability, with licensed Journeyman painters qualifying for the highest rate.
Our production bonus program rewards efficient, high-quality work. Strong-performing Journeyman painters have the potential to earn up to $180,000 per year, depending on individual productivity and overall performance.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare vehicles and individual panels for refinishing
- Review completed preparation work before refinishing begins
- Sand, feather-edge, prime, block, seal, mask, and clean repair areas when required
- Mix, tint, and match automotive paint colours accurately
- Apply basecoat, clearcoat, tri-coat, and other multi-stage paint finishes
- Complete blending procedures on adjacent panels when required
- Produce consistent colour, texture, coverage, gloss, and finish quality
- Identify and correct colour-match, contamination, coverage, texture, and finish concerns
- Inspect surfaces for defects before and after refinishing
- Perform denibbing, polishing, and minor paint correction as required
- Follow paint manufacturer procedures and industry best practices
- Work closely with paint preppers, body technicians, estimators, detailers, and the production team
- Complete repairs efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards
- Accurately document completed work and flag produced hours
- Follow all workplace safety, environmental, and bodyshop procedures
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized paint booth and mixing area
- Properly clean and maintain spray guns, tools, and refinishing equipment
- Inspect completed work before the vehicle moves to reassembly or detailing
Qualifications
- Journeyman or Red Seal Automotive Refinishing Technician certification is strongly preferred
- Experienced non-certified applicants may also be considered
- Previous professional automotive painting and refinishing experience
- Strong colour-matching, tinting, and blending abilities
- Experience applying basecoat, clearcoat, tri-coat, and multi-stage finishes
- Knowledge of modern automotive paint systems and refinishing procedures
- Ability to consistently produce clean, high-quality finishes
- Strong understanding of surface preparation and contamination prevention
- Ability to work efficiently in a flat-rate production environment
- Motivated, organized, and self-disciplined
- Excellent attention to detail
- Able to follow repair procedures and bodyshop processes precisely
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Punctual, reliable, and team-oriented
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced collision repair environment
- Must possess a valid driver’s licence
- Experience working in an ICBC-accredited collision repair facility is an asset

Annual earnings will depend on certification, experience, individual production, hours flagged, quality of work, and eligibility under the applicable bonus programs.
