Job Title: Journeyman Electrician
Job Description
This role focuses on new commercial construction projects, including a data center, where you will install, troubleshoot, and maintain electrical systems with a strong emphasis on running and pulling large conduit and wiring. You will use your journeyman-level expertise to interpret blueprints, execute high-quality installations, and support retrofit and renovation work as needed.
Responsibilities

Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems on new commercial construction projects, including data center work.

Run and install conduit, including 4-inch conduit, ensuring accurate routing, secure fastening, and compliance with electrical codes.

Pull and terminate electrical wiring and cable safely and efficiently for power, lighting, and related systems.

Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to plan and execute electrical installations.

Perform conduit bending using appropriate tools and techniques to meet project layouts and standards.

Install and service lighting systems, fire alarm systems, and other commercial electrical components.

Support retrofit and renovation projects by upgrading, modifying, or replacing existing electrical systems.

Troubleshoot electrical issues, identify root causes, and perform corrective repairs in a timely manner.

Carry out industrial and commercial electrical installations from rough-in through final trim and commissioning.

Ensure all work complies with applicable electrical codes, safety regulations, and project requirements.

Use hand and power tools, test equipment, and lifts safely and correctly as part of daily work.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area on job sites at all times.

Coordinate with site supervisors, other trades, and team members to meet project schedules and milestones.

Drive your own vehicle to and from various job sites as required.

Work overtime as needed, including extended hours, to meet project deadlines.
Essential Skills

Valid Journeyman Electrician license.

Proven experience in new commercial construction electrical work.

Ability to run and install conduit, including 4-inch conduit, in a commercial environment.

Strong conduit bending skills using appropriate tools and methods.

Proficiency in pulling wire and cable for power, lighting, and related systems.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and electrical schematics.

Experience with commercial construction and retrofit/renovation electrical projects.

Hands-on experience with installation, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems.

Capability to install and work on fire alarm systems in a commercial setting.

Current WHMIS certification.

Current CSTS (Construction Safety Training System) certification.

AWP (Aerial Work Platform) and Fall Pro certifications.

Ability to drive and provide your own vehicle to travel to job sites.

Strong understanding of electrical codes, safety practices, and construction site procedures.

Work Environment
This role is based on active commercial construction sites, including a data center project, where you will work primarily day shifts with varying start times depending on project needs (for example, 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., or 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.). You must be flexible with shift start times and prepared for substantial overtime, with overtime compensation applying after 44 hours in a week and frequent opportunities for additional hours. The work involves a hands-on construction environment, including exposure to typical site conditions such as noise, dust, and varying weather, as well as regular use of tools, equipment, and aerial work platforms. You will travel to job sites using your own vehicle and work within a safety-focused culture that emphasizes the use of PPE, WHMIS and CSTS practices, and adherence to all site safety protocols.
