PROFILE SUMMARY
Wesgroup is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Quality Control Coordinator to join our Customer Care team in a one-year fixed term position. In this role, you will coordinate quality control activities, maintain project schedules, and support the successful completion of residential developments while helping ensure homes and common areas meet Wesgroup quality standards.
Working closely with Construction, Customer Care, trade partners, and project stakeholders, you will oversee deficiency tracking, trade coordination, quality control reporting, and project readiness activities that support project milestones, possession timelines, and completion targets.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Coordinate quality control inspections and deficiency management activities for assigned residential projects, ensuring deficiencies are accurately documented, distributed to trade partners, and tracked through to resolution.
- Monitor outstanding deficiencies, conduct follow-up inspections, and ensure corrective actions are completed within target timelines and in alignment with project schedules and quality standards.
- Maintain and update quality control schedules, homeowner orientation schedules, and unit completion forecasts to provide accurate and timely information on readiness dates, project delays, outstanding deficiencies, and key milestones.
- Coordinate project priorities and support resource planning to ensure inspections, trade work, and deficiency completion activities align with overall project requirements.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with Construction teams, trade partners, installers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to support timely issue resolution and project alignment.
- Communicate quality concerns, project priorities, schedule updates, risks, and deficiency-related requirements through regular coordination and project meetings.
- Conduct inspections, testing, deficiency reviews, and quality assessments to verify compliance with project requirements and company standards.
- Maintain accurate project records, deficiency logs, reports, schedules, and documentation, and prepare project status updates to support Customer Care, Construction, and leadership decision-making.
- Perform minor repairs, cleaning, touch-ups, and finishing work where appropriate to support project completion activities.
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma/GED required; a college, trade, or technical diploma in project management, carpentry, trades, operations, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in residential construction, project coordination, quality control, warranty service, or a related field.
- Experience coordinating schedules, tracking deficiencies, and working with multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced construction environment.
- Experience using project management, construction management, or deficiency tracking software, such as Autodesk.
- Trade certification or specialty trade experience, residential high-rise or multi-family development experience, and experience managing project schedules or construction workflows are considered assets.
- Experience with BC New Home Warranty processes and residential possession activities is preferred.
- Strong understanding of residential construction and finishing practices, deficiency tracking, quality control processes, and project scheduling.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent organization, prioritization, multitasking, attention to detail, problem solving, accountability, and follow-through.
- Comfortable working on active construction sites and in buildings prior to completion, including walking, stair access, reviewing and documenting deficiencies, completing physical repairs where appropriate, and using PPE.
EXPECTED COMPENSATION
- Annual Base Salary: The expected salary range for this role is $62,000 - $70,000 per annum. Actual offered salary will depend on individual experience, qualifications, geographic location, market conditions for the role, and internal equity.
