Machine Operator (Industrial Microwave)

Compensation: $20.60/hour + Overnight Shift Premium*
Schedule: Training on Afternoon Shift (starting at 5:00 PM), transitioning to Overnight Shift (9:00 PM–5:30 AM) once fully trained.
Worklynx Recruitment Inc. is currently hiring a Machine Operator (Industrial Microwave) for one of our clients located in Etobicoke, ON.
About the Role
We're looking for a dependable Machine Operator to join a refrigerated beef and lamb processing facility. This role is responsible for safely operating an industrial microwave system while maintaining production quality, efficiency, and food safety standards.
Training will take place on the afternoon shift before transitioning to a permanent overnight schedule. A valid Walkie Operator licence is required.
Key Responsibilities
· Ensure labels are ordered and collected for the production process.
· Manage and maintain the operation of the labelling machine, adapting to different customer orders by switching top and bottom rolls accordingly.
· Operate the laser printer to ensure each package has the correct best-before date.
· Perform daily cleaning and basic maintenance of equipment before the start and at the end of each shift.
· Safely operate complex production machinery.
· Follow production running instructions and operating procedures.
· Maintain general housekeeping around the assigned work area.
· Provide feedback and maintenance requests to improve machine performance.
· Complete all assigned quality checks.
· Participate in training, cross-training, health & safety initiatives, and continuous improvement programs.
· Follow all workplace safety policies, GMPs, food safety procedures, and company standards.
· Wear all required PPE, including CSA-approved safety footwear and other required safety equipment.
Qualifications & Experience
· Previous experience as a Production or Machine Operator.
· Valid Walkie Operator licence.
· Experience in food manufacturing is considered a strong asset.
· Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
· Strong attention to detail and quality.
· Reliable attendance and punctuality.
· Ability to work independently and within a team.
· Strong communication skills.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
Physical Requirements
· Lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
· Comfortable performing repetitive tasks.
· Able to stand for extended periods.
· Comfortable working in refrigerated temperatures (-1°C to +4°C).
· Comfortable working around raw beef and lamb products.
· Overtime as required.
