Interested in being part of a dynamic team responsible for supporting our staff as we sail to connect communities? We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Recruitment Coordinator to join our People Recruitment & Total Rewards team.
Partnered with an Advisor and another coordinator with regional and operational oversight, you will be joining a highly collaborative recruitment team. In this role, you'll support hiring across a diverse range of operational and corporate roles. Working closely with hiring managers and HR partners, you'll help coordinate recruitment activities, maintain recruitment records, and deliver a positive candidate experience throughout the hiring process.

The Role
Reporting to the Manager, People Recruitment, you add value and are energized by key areas of oversight such as:

Coordinating end-to-end recruitment activities for operational, corporate, exempt, and bargaining unit positions, supporting the hiring process from posting and candidate screening through to onboarding and employee movement; in accordance with internal policy and procedure along with collective agreement requirements;

Serving as a trusted point of contact for candidates and hiring managers, providing guidance, support, and timely communication throughout the recruitment process;

Partnering with hiring managers, Workforce Planning, Scheduling Services, operational leaders, and other stakeholders to understand hiring needs, support workforce planning initiatives, coordinate recruitment activities, and facilitate employee movement and onboarding;

Building talent pipelines and strengthening BC Ferries' employer brand through candidate sourcing initiatives, recruitment marketing, career fairs, and community outreach activities and other talent attraction activities;

Participating in interviews and hiring activities, supporting candidate assessments, and helping ensure an exceptional candidate experience through timely communication and feedback;

Guiding candidates through pre-employment and onboarding requirements, including reference checks, offer documentation, Transport Canada requirements, and other employment-related processes;

Maintaining applicant tracking systems, recruitment databases, personnel files, and electronic records ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with organizational standards;

Contributing to ongoing improvements in recruitment processes, service delivery, and candidate experience by identifying opportunities to streamline workflows and enhance efficiency.
What you bring to the team

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred

A minimum 1 year experience providing administrative support, including supporting or administering human resources programs, policies, and practices, preferably in a recruitment, human resources, or other fast-paced environments

A minimum of 1 year experience working with an applicant tracking system is preferred

A minimum of 1 year experience supporting unionized employees and interpreting collective agreements preferred

Knowledge of employment legislation, recruitment best practices, and high-volume hiring environments

Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-focused approach and ability to build effective working relationships

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and recruitment technology platforms

Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and a commitment to accuracy and confidentiality

Ability to work collaboratively, adapt to changing priorities, and demonstrate initiative in solving problems

Additional information
The target salary range is $66,300-$82,800 per annum. The starting salary is determined based on the successful candidate’s knowledge, experience and internal equity.
