Job Description
This role focuses on the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of a wide range of industrial machinery and equipment within a manufacturing environment. You ensure machinery operates safely, efficiently, and reliably through preventive maintenance and rapid response to breakdowns. You apply strong technical expertise in mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, robotics, and CNC equipment to support production requirements and minimize downtime.
Responsibilities

Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, robotic, and CNC systems to maintain safe and reliable operation.

Troubleshoot equipment breakdowns, identify root causes, and implement effective, timely solutions to restore production.

Perform equipment changeovers, setups, and relocations as required to support changing production needs.

Conduct preventive maintenance and predictive maintenance activities in accordance with established programs and schedules.

Modify, install, dismantle, and assemble machinery and heavy equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, and schematics.

Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics to plan and execute mechanical work accurately.

Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to prioritize work, coordinate repairs, and reduce equipment downtime.

Follow all safety procedures and best practices while working with industrial machinery, hydraulics, pneumatics, robotics, and CNC equipment.

Document maintenance activities, repairs, and modifications to ensure accurate equipment history and compliance with internal standards.

Support continuous improvement initiatives by recommending and implementing enhancements to equipment reliability and performance.
Essential Skills-
Must hold a valid 443A Millwright ticket.

Must hold an Ontario Certificate of Qualification (CofQ) as an Industrial Mechanic/Millwright.

Minimum of 3+ years of millwright experience in a manufacturing environment.

Proven experience as a maintenance technician working with industrial machinery and equipment.

Strong troubleshooting skills for mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, robotic, and CNC equipment.

Hands-on experience with installation, maintenance, repair, and overhaul of industrial machinery.

Ability to inspect, diagnose, and resolve issues in hydraulic systems and pneumatic systems and controls.

Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, layout plans, and technical schematics.

Solid understanding of mechanical systems and their interaction with hydraulics, pneumatics, and robotics.

Ability to perform equipment changeovers, setups, and relocations safely and efficiently.

Experience conducting preventive and predictive maintenance in a manufacturing setting.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to equipment safety, reliability, and performance.

Ability to work effectively in a multi-shift manufacturing environment and adapt to rotating shifts.
Additional Skills & Qualifications-
Experience training apprentices in millwright or maintenance work is considered an asset.

Comfort working with robotic systems and CNC equipment in a production environment.

Strong communication skills to collaborate with production, maintenance, and technical teams.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage priorities in a fast-paced setting.

Work Environment
This position is based in a manufacturing facility operating on a three-shift rotation that changes every two weeks. The shift schedule includes days from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., afternoons from 3:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., and nights from 11:30 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. Employees receive a 10-minute break and a 20-minute paid lunch each shift. The environment involves working around industrial machinery, mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, robotics, and CNC equipment, with a strong emphasis on safety and reliability. You work closely with production and maintenance teams in a structured, process-driven setting that supports consistent operations across all shifts.
