Equipment Ontario Inc. (EOI) is a growing agricultural equipment dealership group committed to providing exceptional products, service and support to our customers and communities. Our team works together to keep our customers' businesses moving, and we are looking for a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable Clerk to join our Accounting team.

The Opportunity

The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices and payments across the organization. This role plays an important part in maintaining strong vendor relationships, ensuring accurate financial records and supporting the overall efficiency of the Accounting Department.

The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented and comfortable working with high volumes of invoices while meeting deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

Process and accurately enter vendor invoices into the accounting system.
Match invoices to purchase orders, receiving documents and supporting documentation.
Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies with vendors and internal departments.
Ensure invoices are properly coded to the appropriate location, department and general ledger account.
Prepare and process vendor payments in accordance with established payment schedules.
Maintain accurate vendor records and ensure vendor information is kept up to date.
Respond to vendor inquiries regarding invoices, payments and account balances.
Monitor outstanding invoices and ensure payments are processed within required timelines.
Process employee expense reports and credit card transactions, as required.
Maintain organized and accurate electronic and paper records.
Support continuous improvement initiatives within the Accounting Department.
Provide backup support to other accounting functions as required.

Qualifications & Skills

Previous accounts payable or accounting experience is preferred.
Accounting education or coursework is an asset.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Professional and customer-service-oriented approach when dealing with vendors and internal team members.
Experience in an agricultural equipment dealership, automotive, heavy equipment or similar environment is an asset.
