Martech Motor WInding Ltd. is currently seeking an experienced, team-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join our Accounting Team in Castlegar, BC.

Martech is a family-owned business that has been serving the Castlegar and West Kootenay region for the past 30 years. Our facility and shop provide services to industrial, commercial, and institutional clients in the area, specializing in the repair/rebuild/sale of electric motors, welding machines, water systems, pumps, and standby generators.

This is a full-time temporary position providing coverage for a maternity leave. While the role is initially offered as temporary, Martech anticipates an ongoing need for this position and intends to retain the successful candidate as a permanent full-time employee following the maternity leave period, subject to operational requirements and satisfactory performance.

Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, the Accounts Payable Clerk will be responsible for:

Receiving, reviewing, and processing invoices from vendors and suppliers.
Verifying the accuracy of invoice details, including vendor information, invoice numbers, and amounts.
Preparing and processing vendor payments through various payment methods, including cheques and electronic transfers.
Communicating with vendors regarding invoice discrepancies, payment inquiries, and other accounts payable matters.
Reconciling accounts payable transactions and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
Ensuring compliance with company policies, accounting principles, and regulatory requirements related to accounts payable.
Entering daily transactions into various portals for Time & Material jobs, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Providing general administrative support, including filing, data entry, and other office duties as required.

Qualifications, Competencies & Abilities

Previous experience in accounts payable or a similar accounting or finance role is preferred.
Degree, diploma, or certificate in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting is considered an asset.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
Ability to meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Strong multitasking skills with the ability to prioritize competing responsibilities effectively.
