We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Food Safety & Quality Assurance (FSQA) Coordinator to join our team and support our food safety, quality, and certification initiatives.
Position Summary
The FSQA Coordinator will be responsible for supporting and maintaining the company's Food Safety Management System, HACCP Program, Preventive Control Plan (PCP), quality assurance programs, and regulatory compliance requirements.
The successful candidate will work closely with the FSQA Manager and cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with food safety regulations, customer requirements, and company quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Food Safety & Regulatory Compliance
- Maintain and verify HACCP, PCP, GMP, and food safety programs.
- Conduct daily GMP inspections, facility audits, and pre-operational inspections.
- Review production, sanitation, and quality records for compliance and accuracy.
- Support customer, regulatory, and certification audits.
- Assist with food safety risk assessments and corrective action programs.
- Investigate non-conformances, customer complaints, and food safety incidents.
- Participate in root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Quality Assurance
- Conduct product quality inspections and evaluations.
- Verify compliance with product specifications and quality standards.
- Monitor quality trends and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Support hold and release programs.
- Assist in supplier quality and specification management activities.
Sanitation & Environmental Monitoring
- Perform sanitation verification and pre-operational inspections.
- Review sanitation records and ensure compliance with established procedures.
- Support environmental monitoring and swabbing programs.
- Verify effectiveness of cleaning and sanitation activities.
Documentation & Training
- Maintain food safety and quality documentation and records.
- Support document control and revision management activities.
- Conduct GMP and food safety training for employees.
- Promote a strong food safety culture throughout the organization.
Continuous Improvement
- Support internal audit programs.
- Participate in food safety and quality improvement projects.
- Assist with implementation and verification of corrective actions.
- Collaborate with Production, Maintenance, Warehouse, and Sanitation teams to improve food safety and operational performance.
QualificationsEducation
- Diploma or Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, Quality Assurance, Food Safety, or a related field.
Experience
Required:
- Minimum 2 years of Food Safety & Quality Assurance experience in a food manufacturing environment.
- Experience with HACCP, GMPs, and food safety systems.
- Experience conducting inspections, audits, and record reviews.
- Strong understanding of food safety regulations and quality management systems.
Preferred:
- Experience in meat, poultry, or protein processing.
- Experience working in a federally registered food manufacturing facility.
- Experience with Preventive Control Plans (PCP).
- Experience supporting SQF, BRCGS, or other GFSI-recognized certification programs.
- Experience preparing for customer and regulatory audits.

Working Conditions
- Combination of office and production floor activities.
- Frequent exposure to refrigerated production environments.
- Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Ability to stand, walk, and conduct inspections throughout the facility.
Schedule
- Monday to Friday
- Day Shift
- Occasional flexibility required to support audits, investigations, and operational requirements
Pay: Up to $65,000.00 per year
Work Location: In person
