Position: Senior Accounting Technician
Location: Lethbridge, Alberta
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with some seasonal overtime

As our firm continues to grow, we are looking for a Senior Accounting Technician to join our team. This is an opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who is ready to take ownership of more complex files, work directly with clients, and play an important role in supporting compilation, review, audit, and tax engagements.
What You'll Do
Accounting & File Work
- Complete full cycle accounting, including A/P, A/R, payroll, GST, reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.
- Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions across a variety of client files.
- Take on more complex accounting and year-end files, including advanced reconciliations and analytical work.
- Prepare supporting documentation for compilation, review, and audit engagements.
- Maintain organized files and consistent documentation standards.
Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Prepare year-end financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Assist with client-specific reporting requirements and year-end file preparation.
- Support the preparation of personal, corporate, and GST tax returns and related schedules.
- Help ensure client files are complete, accurate, and ready for CPA review.
Client & Team Support
- Communicate directly with clients to gather information, answer questions, and follow up on outstanding items.
- Help identify discrepancies, missing information, and documentation issues requiring further review.
- Build positive working relationships with clients while providing professional and responsive service.
- Work closely with CPAs, Partners, and team members to keep files moving efficiently and meet deadlines.
- Support Bookkeepers, Junior Technicians, CPA Students, and CPAs with file preparation, review, and follow-up activities.
- Assist with identifying issues and support efficient problem resolution.
What We're Looking For
- Post-secondary education in accounting, business, or a related field.
- Several years of accounting experience, preferably within a public accounting or professional services environment.
- Enrollment in the CPA program or an interest in pursuing the CPA designation is not required but is considered an asset.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, bookkeeping processes, and financial reporting.
- Experience preparing and working with compilation, review, audit, and year-end files.
- Experience with personal, corporate, and GST tax preparation.
- Experience with AgriStability or agricultural accounting is considered an asset.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and work through solutions effectively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and quality.
- Ability to manage multiple files and deadlines.
- Experience with Microsoft Office and accounting software such as QuickBooks and Sage.
- Knowledge of CaseWare and Profile is considered an asset.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with clients and team members.

Pay: $25.00-$37.00 per hour
