DART Aerospace is a global aerospace manufacturer specializing in mission-critical equipment and solutions for the helicopter and aerospace industries.
We are looking for a hands-on and mechanically inclined Fabricator / Assembler to join our production team at our Hawkesbury facility.
Position Overview
The Fabricator / Assembler is responsible for fabricating and assembling components using a variety of machinery, hand tools, and manufacturing techniques.
The role involves processes such as bending, countersinking, pressing, drilling, riveting, grinding, and shearing. The Fabricator / Assembler works from engineering drawings and blueprints to manufacture and assemble components according to specifications while maintaining quality, traceability, and production requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings to determine material requirements, dimensions, and assembly instructions.
- Fabricate and assemble parts according to engineering drawings and work instructions.
- Create and construct patterns, guides, and templates for metal cutting and fabrication.
- Operate light machinery and production equipment to:
- Rivet
- Grind
- Shear
- Bend
- Drill
- Press and countersink components
- Operate hand tools including drills, riveters, crimping tools, and other assembly equipment.
- Install fabricated components into final products and assemblies.
- Perform measurements and dimensional checks using calipers and other precision measuring tools.
- Complete required production and inventory transactions within the ERP system.
- Monitor product quality, traceability, and production rates.
- Identify defects, dimensional discrepancies, or manufacturing issues and report them appropriately.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation.
- Follow established manufacturing, quality, and safety procedures.
- Perform other production duties as assigned by the supervisor.
QualificationsRequired
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Good manual dexterity and ability to perform precision work using small tools.
- Experience using calipers, measuring tools, and basic hand tools.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects.
- Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to the production schedule.
- Ability to work effectively within a lean manufacturing environment.
- Strong commitment to quality and safety.
Assets
- Previous sheet metal fabrication experience.
- Experience with riveting, drilling, bending, countersinking, pressing, grinding, or shearing.
- Previous manufacturing or mechanical assembly experience.
- Experience using an ERP system.
- Experience working in aerospace or another precision manufacturing environment.
What We're Looking For
We are looking for someone who is mechanically inclined, precise, and comfortable working with their hands. The ideal candidate can confidently interpret engineering drawings, use fabrication and measuring tools, and consistently produce components that meet quality specifications.
Experience in sheet metal or aerospace manufacturing is an asset, but strong mechanical ability, attention to detail, and hands-on fabrication skills are key to success in this role.
Pay: $20.00 per hour
