Job Purpose
The Sr. Human Resources Coordinator is responsible for the overall management of the human resources systems within the Company. This position maintains and enhances the organization's human resources by planning, implementing, creating and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies, programs, safety and practices. The Sr. HR Coordinator is the go-to person for all employee-related issues. This role supports the company’s strategic goals while monitoring and advising on legal compliances. The Sr. HR Coordinator’s areas of responsibility involve, but are not limited to, health & safety, job design, recruitment, communications, employee relations, attendance management, performance management, training & development and talent management.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Sr. Finance/ Operations Manager to maintain employee benefits program and inform employees; recommending benefit programs to owners; obtaining and evaluating benefit contract bids; designing and conducting educational programs about benefits.
- Ensures legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and provincial requirements, conducting investigations and maintaining records.
- Bridges management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances or other issues.
- Implementing and revising a company’s compensation program.
- Maintain management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource policies and procedures.
- · Maintains HRIS software- ensuring accurate and timely updating of employee data
- Monitors vacation, sick leave, and leave of absences.
- Maintains department and employee records and reports.
- Maintains a pay plan by conducting periodic pay surveys; scheduling and conducting job evaluations; monitoring and scheduling individual pay actions.
- Prepares new hire packages and documentation sign offs
- Prepares employment offer letters for new hires and conducts reference and background checks as needed.
- Ensures planning, monitoring, and appraisal of employee work results by training managers / supervisors to coach and discipline employees; hearing and resolving employee grievances; counseling employees and supervisors.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing professional publications.
- Nurture a positive working environment with employee recognition and reward programs.
- Prepares new employees by establishing and conducting orientation and training programs.
- Manages the recruitment and selection process, internally and externally.
- Creates and revises job descriptions with executive team.
- Maintains and updates employment contracts as needed.
- Maintains and revises the company’s handbook and health & safety manual on policies and procedures.
- Manage the WSIB and return to work program.
- Oversees exit interviews.
- Prepares employee termination and separation packages, letters and related documentation.
- Collaborate with executives on executing performance appraisal system.
- Conducts annual performance reviews for direct reports.
- Holds others and self-accountable to gaps in performance.
Must Have Skills
- CHRP or CHRL designation
- High attention to detail
- 3+ years using HRMS
- 5+ years in Human Resources Management, Benefits Administration, Performance Management, Communication Processes, Compensation and Wage Structure, Employment Law, Organizational Development, Attendance Management, Occupational Health & Safety, WSIB, Disability Management, Rewards and Recognition and Training and Development.
- Computer literate with good numeric skills and experience with full MS suite.

- Experience with BambooHR (HRMS)
Pay: $70,000.00-$79,613.66 per year
