Brunelle Building Co. — Construction Management & Consulting
Full-Time | Based at our Chilliwack BC office with site presence as required across the Fraser Valley and Metro Vancouver
Salary: $110,000 to $150,000 based on experience, plus performance incentives
Brunelle Building Co. is a First Nations owned construction management and consulting firm. We provide owner-side project leadership for developers and ownership groups, and senior project management capacity embedded within general contractor teams, on commercial, residential, multifamily, and community projects across British Columbia. We are not a general contractor. Depending on the project, we provide independent leadership on the owner's side, or we embed directly within a contractor's team to strengthen delivery. Either way, we are brought in because the project needs experienced, capable leadership.
We are hiring a Senior Project Manager to lead an active multifamily residential project. Your role is senior leadership, responsible for making sure the project runs correctly and is delivered to standard, and for carrying the firm's standard in front of clients, consultants, and trades. This person reports directly to the principal and works closely with him across the firm's engagements.
This is a seat for an operator who can already run a job. We are not training you to manage. We are handing you a project and expecting you to lead it.
What you'll own
- Senior leadership of an active multifamily residential build, from where it stands now through closeout. You carry the responsibility that it runs correctly.
- Cost and financial control on a cost-plus job: budgets held, change and cost reporting accurate, the numbers standing up to scrutiny
- Schedule discipline: a schedule that is real and maintained, with recovery planned before slippage turns into a problem
- Making sure everything on site is run correctly: RFIs, submittals, documentation control, safety documentation, QA/QC, and reporting. You are the senior leader accountable for it being done properly, with nothing slipping
- BBC's senior point of contact with the client, consultants, the GC, and trades, with accurate and timely reporting to the client and the principal
- Site presence at critical points, key meetings, and wherever your judgment is needed on the job
Who this is for
You can run a project without being managed through it. You read cost and schedule risk early and act on it rather than reporting it after it lands. You're field-credible and client-presentable, because on our engagements you are the firm in the room. Whether you're a senior PM or an experienced PM ready to carry a project end to end on your own, what matters is that you can hold the standard on this one.
What you bring
- A track record managing construction projects through delivery, ideally including multifamily, commercial, or institutional work
- Post-secondary credential in Construction Management, Building Technology, Engineering, Architecture, or equivalent field experience that backs it up
- Genuine command of construction methods, sequencing, contracts, and cost control
- The judgment to hold a position with a GC or consultant when it matters, and to know when to escalate
- Comfort with PM, estimating, and scheduling software, and with running organized digital project information
- Clear written communication. You will be putting BBC's name on reports and correspondence
- Experience under CM, owner's-rep, or cost-plus arrangements is a strong asset. Exposure to Indigenous, public, or institutional projects is valued
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Local site travel is part of the role
Compensation and growth
- Base salary of $110,000 to $150,000, set on experience
- Performance incentives tied to delivery and project outcomes
- Paid vacation and statutory holidays
- Direct line to the principal and to how the firm makes its decisions. For the right person who proves they can hold the standard on delivery, there is real room to grow into broader responsibility across the firm
