Escape60 is one of Calgary's leading escape room and entertainment venues, offering immersive escape rooms, corporate events, birthday celebrations, private events, and a fully licensed cocktail bar.
With 14 escape room experiences across two Calgary locations, we focus on creating memorable experiences through excellent hospitality, immersive storytelling, and well-executed games.
We're looking for confident, dependable, and outgoing people to join our team as Gamemaster Hosts.
This is a guest-facing role in a fast-paced environment. You'll be responsible for creating a great experience from the moment guests arrive until the moment they leave.
The Role
As a Gamemaster Host, you'll manage escape room experiences from beginning to end. You'll welcome and brief guests, monitor games, provide clues, reset rooms, troubleshoot issues, and help keep the venue running smoothly.
You'll need to be comfortable speaking in front of groups, managing multiple responsibilities at once, and staying composed when things get busy.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome guests and provide friendly, professional service
- Deliver engaging and confident game introductions and briefings
- Monitor escape rooms and provide accurate, well-timed clues
- Manage multiple games while maintaining strong attention to detail
- Reset rooms quickly and accurately between bookings
- Learn the puzzles, technology, storylines, and operating procedures for multiple rooms
- Troubleshoot basic game and equipment issues
- Maintain clean, organized, and guest-ready spaces
- Handle unexpected situations calmly and professionally
- Assist with front-of-house operations and guest service
- Occasionally assist with bar support and other venue operations when required
- Work collaboratively with the team to keep games running on schedule

Availability
Our busiest periods are evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events, so applicants must have availability during these times.
This is a part-time position with flexible scheduling. Team members may be scheduled at either Escape60 Calgary location.

Experience That Helps
Previous experience is not required, but we'd especially like to hear from candidates with backgrounds in:
- Hospitality or customer service
- Restaurants, bars, or entertainment venues
- Theatre, improv, acting, or public speaking
- Attractions, escape rooms, haunted houses, or live entertainment
- Event hosting
- Retail or other high-volume customer-facing environments

You'll interact with families, couples, corporate groups, birthday parties, tourists, and groups celebrating special occasions. Some guests will be excited, some confused, some competitive, and occasionally some challenging.
Your job is to remain professional, take control when necessary, and make sure every group receives a great experience.
