True North Accounting is looking for someone to join our team. With offices in both Okotoks and Airdrie. Ditch the corporate feel of accounting and come join our strong and steady firm - please bring sense of humour.

We deal with small business owners in a tax, accounting, and advisory role. We want someone who is comfortable dealing directly with clients and is technologically inclined.

This person should have public accounting experience preferably in a small or mid-sized firm.

They readily assume responsibility, and they can operate with minimal direct supervision. They understand the significance of our irregular workload and are committed to the firm in meeting deadlines.

Bookkeeping and Accounting: do the file from start to finish.

· Complete virtually all aspects of assigned Compilation Engagements, including full-service bookkeeping, GST, year-end working papers, corporate tax returns, T-slips, and Personal taxes.

· Handle personal and corporate CRA requests and administration.

· Get the right info for the job. Phone, email, text clients. Be responsible for obtaining all the documents required. Additional administrative duties offer an expanded role and room for growth.

· Be able to identify issues early and resolve them, with assistance from Manager or Partner, as necessary.

· Prioritize and manage your workload independently. Be able to handle numerous clients simultaneously and meet all deadlines. Be prepared to meet deadlines with overtime when necessary.

Client Experience: be helpful and friendly, own the file and be accountable.

· Customer service comes at all costs.

· Own the file and be accountable for the work you did for that client.

· Communicate professionally, yet friendly in all office communications.

· Talk with clients and communicate accounting and tax concepts in a simple and understandable language.

· Willing to learn and use the business processes and software applications.

· Share roadblocks and successes. Be curious and a helpful teammate.

· Chip in: Answer phones, take messages, book appointments, greet clients when they walk in, help them out, get signatures, be responsible when opening and closing the office, etc.
