Due to our continuing growth, we are hiring a Landscape Construction Lead-hand/Landscape Equipment Operator to join our Landscape Construction team. A Landscape Construction Lead-hand/Landscape Operator is responsible for assisting the Foreman on site on all facets of the construction process as well as being able to operate heavy equipment such as skids-steer, mini-excavator and small loaders. In addition to being a worker on their crew, the Landscape Construction Lead-hand/Landscape Operator duties also include interacting with the residential and commercial clients should they have any questions or concerns. Customer service skills are a MUST HAVE as Salivan provide our clients with peace of mind, which includes having a level of comfort should they ever need to interact with the Foreperson or crew members directly.
A Landscape Construction Lead-hand/Landscape Operator is required to have a valid full G license and is expected to be comfortable driving a dump truck (F550) with a float attached or a cube van. At Salivan, we provide hands- on training on operating equipment safely.
As a Salivan team member, we expect you to be punctual, willing to work long hours
(50-60 per week), ready and willing to take instruction and learn, lift at least 50 lbs and be willing to work some Saturdays when the busy season begins.
Your Qualifications:
- Minimum of high school diploma.
- Minimum of 5 years of landscape construction experience with demonstrated leadership skills.
- Currently working as a Foreperson or Right Hand in the landscape construction industry.
- Basic to advanced knowledge of grading principles, basic surveying, blue print interpretation and utility locate knowledge is a requirement.
- A valid G license. Chainsaw license, skid steer license, and first aid training, all of which is provided in house if you do not have these.
- Be punctual. Able to arrive at work by 6:00am.
- A positive attitude and collaborative.
- Good verbal and listening skills.
- Maintain a clean, professional appearance at all times.
