As our Human Resources Manager, you’ll be the heartbeat of our people’s operations. Position: HR Manager

Compensation: $70,000 - $90,000 + Annual Performance Bonus

Expected Start date As soon as possible

Position Responsibilities and Duties

HR Operations & Compliance

Oversee and administer HR policies, procedures, and programs in compliance with Ontario ESA and applicable legislation
Manage employee relations matters, including investigations, disciplinary actions, and performance improvement plans
Ensure accurate maintenance of employee records and HR documentation
Policy Integrity: The ability to be "firm but fair" by upholding company policy strictly while remaining receptive to employee input.
Consistency: Ensuring that all employees are treated fairly and in accordance with past organizational actions to prevent legal risks and boost morale

Talent Management

Lead end-to-end recruitment, onboarding, and probation processes
Partner with leadership to support workforce planning and organizational growth
Support learning, development, and succession planning initiatives

Employee Experience & Performance

Provide guidance and coaching to managers on performance management and employee engagement
Oversee performance review cycles, compensation adjustments, and recognition programs
Foster a positive, professional, and compliant workplace culture

Strategic HR Support

Analyze HR metrics and trends to inform leadership decisions
Support change management initiatives and continuous improvement efforts
Act as a trusted advisor to leadership on people-related
Decisiveness: Comfort in making "tough calls," such as layoffs or disciplinary actions, that prioritize business performance.
Solution-Focused Directness: Using direct communication to focus on task improvement and transparency rather than passing derogatory or judgmental comments.

Essential De-escalation Skills

· De-escalation in a firm environment is about "slowing things down" and choosing non-reactive responses to keep everyone safe and productive

Active Listening: Giving an agitated person the opportunity to be heard, which can naturally lower their emotional intensity.
Emotional Regulation: Maintaining a calm demeanor, neutral facial expressions, and relaxed body language to encourage the other person to mirror your composure.
Validation without Concession: Acknowledging the person's emotions (e.g., "I can see you're upset") without necessarily agreeing with their position.
Limit Setting: Confidently setting clear boundaries on acceptable behavior during a conflict to ensure safety and respect.
Neutrality: Establishing yourself as an unbiased mediator who treats conflict as "data" to be solved rather than a personal disruption.

Success in this environment requires assertive communication, the ability to deliver difficult messages clearly and respectfully without being passive or overly aggressive in a timely manner based on company policy and industry regulatory guidelines.

Qualifications and Other Requirements:

· Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field

· CHRP designation (or working toward) preferred

· Minimum 10+ years of progressive HR experience, including leadership or manager-level responsibilities

· Strong working knowledge of Ontario employment legislation (ESA), Ministry of Labour, Human Rights Code and all other HR best practices.

· Experience managing workplace investigations and compliance-driven HR processes

· High level of professionalism, discretion, and attention

· Proven ability to design and implement HR programs that drive engagement and retention.

· Exceptional interpersonal skills—you can build trust at every level of the organization.

· A proactive, solutions-focused mindset and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

· Communication Techniques: Active listening, questioning, summarizing, feedback delivery.

· Relationship Building & Communication: Setting a positive tone, demonstrating active engagement, and clearly explaining the company culture and role expectations.

· Time Management & Organization: Managing the schedule efficiently to conduct multiple interviews without falling behind, while ensuring prompt follow-up

· Goal-Driven Focus: Their desire to hit targets and/or completed tasks/ assignment/ projects that outweighs any temporary hesitation or fear of social awkwardness

· Must always own a vehicle with full access.

· Have an Understanding of the Employment and Workplace Safety Act

· Must own a vehicle and have full access at all times

· Mandatory attendance at Company Annual Events

Work & Travel Schedule:

· Monday - Friday Shift: 9:00am to 5:30pm (Evenings or weekends as required)

· This is a fully on-site role.
