We are seeking a Risk Analyst to facilitate regular risk reviews at the project level, contribute to detailed project risk reports as required within the reporting cycle, and taking an active role in the continuous improvement of the risk management function. The Risk Analyst will also support the Project Delivery Team and the Risk Lead in ensuring that the Risk Management Plan and other risk-related procedures are followed per the risk management requirements for the assigned scope of work.
What will I be doing?
Reporting to the Risk Manager and responsible for the delivery of risk management across assigned project(s) within a program to an individual project budget limit of $500M and/or a project of average complexity.
Coordinates project risk identification via workshops with various internal and external stakeholders.
Responsible for input of identified risks into the Active Risk Manager (ARM) database for assigned project(s) and provides assurance of project-level risk data.
Accountable to the Project Delivery Management Team with respect to quantitative analysis, reporting and project-level risks, providing timely information about the status of the risk management and any risk/issues/gaps along with recommendations to resolve.
Run quantitative risk analysis models (cost and schedule) to support options analysis, commercial decision-making, contractual risk-transfer strategies, and inform the setting of appropriate project-level contingency (cost and schedule).
Coordinating the production of metrics for project risk management and performing regular data analysis with associated tracking & reporting. Consult with the Risk Lead for quality assurance and review.
Engages with the continuous improvement processes for risk management, drawing on previous experience, industry best practices and emerging trends.
What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need?
Degree in a relevant field (e.g., Analytics, Engineering, Construction Management) or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent.
Demonstrated experience in a risk management-related role, preferably in a civil infrastructure, construction project environment OR experience deemed equivalent.
Experience implementing or supporting project controls within a construction project environment is preferred.
Demonstrable skilled experience using industry-standard software packages and applications – Active Risk Manager (ARM), Primavera Risk Analyser (PRA), @Risk.
Skilled in risk management theory, principles and practice. With an understanding of broader project controls theory, principles and practice.
Excellent verbal, written, presentation and communication skills.
Demonstrable skilled experience in successfully managing competing objectives of stakeholders and recognizing materiality.
Able to address and engage project managers one-on-one and in a workshop environment.
Working towards or holding a relevant risk management qualification or certification from a recognized Institution.
