Purchasing & Procurement
- Assist in preparing accurate and timely estimates for repairs identified through preventative maintenance inspections, service calls, equipment evaluations, and shop teardowns.
- Review technician inspection reports and service documentation to support the development of repair quotations under the guidance of senior estimating or service personnel.
- Source pricing for parts, materials, and external services to support the preparation of accurate and competitive estimates.
- Follow up on quotations, communicate with customers regarding estimate status, and assist with obtaining approvals for scheduled work.
- Prepare quotations for preventative maintenance inspections and scheduled service programs as directed.
- Maintain inspection schedules and customer reminder systems to support recurring maintenance programs.
- Provide administrative and technical support to field technicians by assisting with repair scoping, documentation, and parts identification.
- Coordinate spare parts requests and assist with procurement activities to ensure materials are available for scheduled repairs.
- Maintain tracking spreadsheets and records for shop evaluations, equipment teardowns, repair opportunities, quotations, and work in progress.
- Work closely with the Service Manager, estimators, technicians, and administrative staff to support daily service operations and customer requirements.
- Build technical knowledge of crane equipment, repair methods, labour requirements, and Company estimating standards.
- Maintain positive working relationships with customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders while providing professional and responsive service.
- Ensure estimating activities are completed in accordance with Company policies, safety standards, and quality expectations.
- Continuously develop product knowledge, estimating skills, and industry expertise through on-the-job training and coaching.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned in support of the Service Department.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Post-secondary education in Engineering Technology, Business, Construction, or a related field is an asset.
- One (1) to three (3) years of experience in estimating, service, parts, or a mechanical/industrial environment preferred.
- Experience with cranes, heavy equipment, or industrial equipment is an asset.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with ERP or service management systems is an asset.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and service reports.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong problem-solving and time management abilities.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and able to learn new systems quickly.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
