Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Brake Press Operator to join our team in Guelph. This role is vital to ensuring efficient operations within our facility. Join us and contribute to a company renowned for its durability and innovation.
Hours of Work: 4:20 PM – 2:20 AM, Monday to Thursday
Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform set‑ups and operate a variety of metal‑working equipment, including brake presses, punch presses, notchers, and related machinery
- Work from customer orders and oral or written instructions, including shop floor information and production schedules
- Ensure the quality of assigned work and the accuracy of completed orders
- Use measurement equipment to verify product dimensions and specifications
- Operate assigned equipment efficiently and safely
- Complete and adhere to all relevant quality, production, and safety documentation
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition
- Follow all established health and safety guidelines and procedures
- Follow all quality guidelines and procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Previous experience setting up and operating Amada, Accurpress, or Salvagnini presses is considered a strong asset
- Ability to use hand tools and lift up to 50 lbs on a repeated basis
- Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and technical documentation
- Knowledge of press equipment, dies, and other metal‑working equipment
- Experience with press and die set‑up and machine controls
- Basic computer skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- High attention to detail
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
