Job description

Purpose:

To document the roles, responsibilities and functions required of personnel holding the title of Warehouse Order Picker/Shipper.

General Responsibilities:

Warehouse Order Picker/Shipper personnel are responsible to accurately and safely store, gather, package and prepare product according to the sales orders and established practices and procedures for product storing, picking and shipping. They must work co-operatively with all personnel to ensure products are shipped in a timely fashion and all necessary paperwork is completed.

Organizational Relationships:

Warehouse Order Picker/Shipper reports to the Warehouse Manager and works closely with the Warehouse Department and the Quality, Health and Safety Department.

Specific Roles, Responsibilities & Functions:

- Attend scheduled meetings.

- Follow instructions pertaining to an individual order as set out by the customer or sales department.

- Know product and product storage locations.

- Document heat numbers, quantities, back ordered items and initial.

- Properly label and package product as per work practices and procedures or as per customer requirements.

- Assist in organizing the product in the staging area for pick up.

- Maintain the ability to determine the status of an order at any given time.

- Report quality and/or inventory discrepancy issues to the appropriate personnel. Ensure quality assurance checks are completed, as required.

- Adhere to Quality, Health and Safety requirements, company policies, ISO standards and directives.

- Ensure Health/Safety issues and concerns are reported and addressed.

- Ensure work area is kept clean and clutter free. Regularly perform housekeeping duties. Maintain and upkeep equipment and tools.

- Work as a contributing team member, establish good relations within the company, with an emphasis on morale and teamwork attitude and carry out the position in a professional manner.

- Including making deliveries or pick-ups as directed, with the Armor Alloys delivery truck

- Other duties as requested/directed.

Additional Skills/ Knowledge:

- Understand basic inventory, warehousing and socking procedures.

- Strong time management skills.

- Basic computer and keyboarding skills.

- Self-motivated, able to multi-task and demonstrates an attention to detail.

- Strong organizational skills.

- Able to lift heavy items (to prescribed maximum) and operate warehouse machines/tools (forklifts, saws, banders, manlifts, hand tools, power tools, recoilers, etc.).

- Stand/walk for duration of work hours.

- Able to work extended hours.

- Capable of following written and verbal instructions and procedures.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $22.00-$27.00 per hour
