We are currently looking for a senior civil engineer who enjoys various innovative technical challenges to join our Edmonton Office. The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking or contributing to diverse civil, structural, and geotechnical engineering projects focusing on Machine Learning (ML) using Python Programming language.

Requirements:

1- A minimum of 5 years (preferably 10+ or 15+ years) of combined hands-on practical experience in civil, structural, and geotechnical engineering is required.

2- Master's Degree is a requirement. A Ph.D. degree is considered a valuable asset.

3- Dams and hydroelectric industry experience is a requirement.

4- Oil and Gas industry experience is a requirement.

5- Experience with concrete mix design is a requirement. Experience with specialty concrete such as RCC (Roller Compacted Concrete) and High Strength Concrete is a precious asset. Experience with concrete research and development is a very valuable asset.

6- Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence programming using Python Programming language is a precious asset.

7- Forensic Engineering experience is considered a precious asset.

8- Quality Assurance and Quality Control experience is considered a very valuable asset.

9- Frozen Ground Engineering and Permafrost experience is considered a very valuable asset.

10- Mentorship and training experience is considered a valuable asset.

11- Bid document and Research Proposal document preparation are valuable assets.

11- Competency in using AutoCAD, ETABS, SAP, ANSYS, and SAFE is a requirement.

Technical Skills:

- Experience in geotechnical design (such as shallow and deep foundations and retaining walls) is viewed as an asset
- Competence in using Geotechnical Engineering software is considered an asset (Geostudio/GeoSlope, L-Pile, GeoSystems, gINT, SR Wall, and Plaxis)
- Experience in laboratory testing of soils, rock, concrete, oil sand, tailings, and asphalt is viewed as an asset

Other Requirements:

- Proficient in using Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Time management skills
