Trans Mountain is seeking a collaborative, motivated, and values driven individual to join our dynamic team as Business Solutions Developer. In this position, you will play a key role in partnering with business teams across the organization to identify, analyze, and solve business problems using secure, practical, and scalable technology solutions. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong business analysis and software development expertise, with experience designing, developing, deploying, and supporting modern web applications in Azure cloud environments, while leveraging AI-assisted development tools responsibly to improve efficiency, automate processes, and enhance business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Partner with stakeholders across business functions to understand underlying business needs, identify root causes of issues, and define practical technology solutions.
Translate business requirements into clear, actionable specifications and solution designs that deliver measurable business value.
Design, build, test, and deploy modern single-page applications (SPAs) and related solutions using contemporary web technologies.
Develop frontend components, integrate APIs, and configure authentication, hosting, and application services to deliver complete business solutions.
Utilize AI-powered development tools to accelerate solution design, code generation, testing, and documentation activities.
Review, validate, and govern AI-generated outputs to ensure compliance with organizational standards, security requirements, coding practices, and documented business requirements.
Configure, deploy, monitor, and troubleshoot solutions within Microsoft Azure environments.
Manage application hosting, authentication services, integrations, and operational support activities to ensure reliability, performance, and availability.
Apply secure development practices throughout the application lifecycle, including authentication, authorization, threat awareness, and secure API integration.
Ensure solutions align with established security, privacy, governance, and operational requirements.
Participate in source control, testing, deployment automation, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes.
Support code reviews, quality assurance activities, and release management practices that enable stable and maintainable solutions.
Identify opportunities to automate manual processes, improve user experiences, and increase operational efficiency through technology.
Stay current on emerging trends in AI, cloud computing, application development, and digital enablement to recommend innovative solutions.
Work effectively with business stakeholders, technical specialists, architects, security teams, and vendors to deliver solutions that meet organizational objectives.
Communicate technical concepts in clear business language and provide ongoing knowledge transfer and user support as required.
Qualifications and Professional Experience
Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Business Technology Management, or a related discipline.
Preferred certifications include Agile/Scrum, business analysis, data/integration, Microsoft Azure, or Power Platform.
Technical proficiency with SQL Server, SOAP/REST APIs, XML, JSON, React or Vue, TypeScript, and SPA fundamentals.
Experience with Azure, Microsoft platforms, integration tools, authentication, CI/CD, testing, and secure application delivery.
Minimum 6 years of progressive experience.
Experience with business analysis, requirements gathering, documentation, stakeholder management, and application system analysis/design.
Works independently within established systems and standards , with the ability to enhance and support a variety of applications .
Strong problem-solver who starts with the business outcome and can turn ambiguity into practical, working solutions.
Forward-thinking and fluent in using AI responsibly to support development and delivery.
Pragmatic about standards, security, and safe delivery.
Collaborative, organized communicator with the ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively with stakeholders across the organization.
