We’re looking for an organized, proactive, and detail-oriented Production Coordinator to join our growing team. This is a key role within our operations, responsible for coordinating projects from order release through production and final delivery. As the Production Coordinator, you’ll be the central point of communication between Engineering, Purchasing, Production, and Customer Service to ensure projects move efficiently through the shop.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Develop and maintain production schedules for custom hydraulic equipment, cylinder manufacturing, and repair projects.
- Coordinate workflow between Engineering, Machining, Welding, Assembly, Testing, and Shipping.
- Release and manage production work orders within the ERP system.
- Review Bills of Material (BOMs), drawings, and job documentation to ensure production readiness.
- Monitor project progress and proactively identify scheduling conflicts or production bottlenecks.
- Coordinate with Purchasing to ensure materials and components arrive on schedule.
- Work closely with shop lead hands and engineering to balance workload and maximize production efficiency.
- Communicate project status, delivery timelines, and schedule updates across departments.
- Support inventory planning and material availability for ongoing production.
- Help drive continuous improvement initiatives that improve workflow, communication, and operational efficiency.
We’re looking for someone who enjoys planning, organizing, and working collaboratively in a manufacturing environment.
Qualifications include:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in production coordination, production planning, project coordination, or manufacturing operations.
- Experience working in a custom manufacturing or heavy industrial environment.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and Bills of Material (BOMs).
- Experience using ERP or MRP systems to manage work orders and production schedules.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Experience with hydraulic systems, fluid power equipment, machining, welding, fabrication, or industrial manufacturing.
- Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement experience.
- APICS or Production Planning certification.
In this role, you’ll help ensure our operations run smoothly by:
- Maintaining accurate production schedules and communicating priorities across departments.
- Ensuring materials, work orders, and documentation are available when needed.
- Supporting the efficient flow of projects through the shop while minimizing delays.
- Helping deliver quality products and repairs on time to meet customer expectations.
- Building strong working relationships across Engineering, Purchasing, Production, and Customer Service.
