What we are looking for:
The Strategy Specialist will play a key role within Fiera Capital’s Total Portfolio Solutions (‘’TPS’’) team, acting as a dedicated commercial enabler who helps advance strategic priorities, improve responsiveness and strengthen the team’s commercial effectiveness. This individual will bring deep investment knowledge across multi-asset, including private markets, along with a strong client-facing and consultative skill set, ideally developed in a consulting or advisory environment. Working closely with investment and distribution partners, the successful candidate will support both Institutional and Private Wealth channels by developing client-ready materials, addressing time-sensitive commercial requests, and engaging directly with clients, prospects, consultants and intermediaries to promote our capabilities, support new sales and contribute to client retention.
Your responsibilities:
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Support Institutional and Private Wealth distribution teams in addressing client and prospect inquiries, with a high degree of responsiveness and commercial judgment.
- Represent the TPS team in first meetings, conferences and key relationship interactions with clients, prospects, consultants and intermediaries.
- Strengthen, maintain and help expand key intermediary and consultant relationships in support of business development and client retention efforts.
- Accelerate and support responses to RFPs, finalist situations and other time-sensitive commercial opportunities.
- Contribute to the development of marketing materials, pitch content, client presentations and other commercial communications tailored to institutional, private wealth and intermediary audiences.
- Partner closely with investment and distribution teams to translate complex investment capabilities into compelling, client-friendly messaging across multi-asset, private markets and related solutions.
- Provide thoughtful support on strategic and business-related questions from clients and prospects, demonstrating credibility across institutional markets while remaining agile in responding to Private Wealth and intermediary needs.
- Monitor industry trends, consultant activity and evolving client needs to inform commercial priorities and strengthen the team’s market relevance.
- Help improve the overall responsiveness and commercial effectiveness of the team, enabling investment professionals to remain focused on portfolio management and high-impact client engagements.
Must have requirements to be successful in this role :
- 10 to 15 years of relevant experience in pension or investment consulting, management consulting, institutional asset management, or a related advisory or client-facing role; experience in a consulting firm or similarly consultative environment is strongly preferred.
- Professional actuarial designation (FSA, FCIA) or CFA designation preferred, or a Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Strong investment depth across multi-asset solutions, public and private markets strategies, and actuarial concepts, with the ability to connect these topics to client needs in a clear and commercially relevant manner.
- Demonstrated ability to understand the investment needs of a diverse range of institutional investors, including liability-driven investors such as pension plans and insurance companies.
- Strong client-facing presence with the ability to engage credibly with clients and prospects, support business development efforts and contribute to client retention.
- Active participation in relevant industry networks, conferences, consultant ecosystems and institutional client communities is strongly preferred.
- Proven ability to thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented culture.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to prepare polished executive-level and client-facing materials, in both French and English.
- High sense of urgency and degree of initiative and self-motivation.
- Results-orientation with a high degree of professional and corporate responsibility.
- Ability to travel across Canada and globally, as needed (approximately 20% of the time).
