Tenova Goodfellow Inc. (TGI) is seeking a dynamic, resourceful, and highly organized Temporary Engineering Recruiter & HR Assistant to support the Human Resources department during a period of growth and recruitment activity. This is a 6 months contract that can be extended.
This role will be responsible for leading full-cycle recruitment for engineering, technical, project management, operations, and administrative positions while providing day-to-day support for HR operations. The successful candidate will actively source talent, coordinate interviews, support onboarding activities, maintain HR records, and assist with employee engagement initiatives.
The ideal candidate is an experienced recruiter who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can successfully recruit difficult-to-fill technical roles, and enjoys balancing recruitment with hands-on HR administration.

Key Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition & Recruitment
· Manage the full recruitment cycle from requisition through offer and onboarding.
· Source and recruit engineers, project managers, planners, commissioning specialists, technical professionals, and administrative staff.
· Create and post job advertisements on various recruitment platforms.
· Conduct resume screening and preliminary interviews.
· Coordinate interviews with hiring managers and technical leaders.
· Prepare candidate summaries and interview evaluations.
· Conduct reference checks and support offer preparation.
· Build talent pipelines for future hiring needs.
· Proactively source passive candidates using LinkedIn, networking, and industry-specific channels.
· Monitor recruitment metrics and provide regular hiring updates.
HR Administration
· Prepare employment agreements, offer letters, and onboarding documentation.
· Coordinate onboarding and orientation activities for new employees.
· Maintain employee files and HR records.
· Support HRIS data entry and employee information updates.
· Assist with benefits administration and employee inquiries.
· Prepare various HR correspondence and employment letters.
· Track probationary periods, training records, and employment milestones.
Employee Engagement & HR Support
· Assist with employee events, recognition programs, and company initiatives.
· Support internal communications and employee announcements.
· Coordinate employee training registrations and records.
· Respond to routine employee inquiries regarding HR policies and procedures.
· Support wellness, culture, and employee engagement initiatives.
HR Projects & Compliance
· Assist with policy updates and HR documentation.
· Support audits and compliance initiatives.
· Maintain confidentiality of employee and business information.
· Participate in HR process improvement projects.
· Provide reporting and administrative support to the HR Manager.
Requirements
· Diploma or Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field.
· Minimum 3 years of recruitment experience.
· Experience recruiting for engineering, project management, manufacturing, industrial, construction, mining, steel, or technical environments is strongly preferred.
· Previous HR administration experience is required.
· Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
· Experience with HRIS and Applicant Tracking Systems.
· Strong knowledge of recruitment best practices and employment legislation.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Highly organized and detail-oriented.
· Strong sense of urgency and ability to manage multiple priorities.
· Professional, approachable, and customer-service focused.
· Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
