The Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled Supply Chain Specialist with expertise in managing the entire contract lifecycle with a proven ability to provide end-to-end accountabilities for all contracting activities. This includes everything from initial requirements gathering, sourcing, drafting contracts, negotiation, and commercial analysis, all the way through to execution, release/purchase order issuance, and ensuring invoices can be paid without errors or delays. This role will be based in either our Calgary or Houston office.
The ideal candidate brings contract knowledge across a wide range of categories, including but not limited to materials, services, IT, construction, projects, operations, professional services, and lease/property administration, with the judgment to distinguish between commercial and legal issues and escalate appropriately. This individual must demonstrate a strong sense of urgency, outstanding attention to detail, consistent self-checking, and a commitment to delivering high‑quality work in a high‑volume environment.
What You'll Do
- Own and execute the complete contracting process from intake to execution, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and commercial effectiveness.
- Prepare, issue, and manage all forms of RFx and the RFx process, ensuring strategic alignment and high-quality documentation.
- Lead negotiation activities with vendors and internal stakeholders, ensuring strong commercial outcomes and risk mitigation.
- Create and issue contracts, purchase orders, and release orders under MSAs while maintaining accuracy.
- Review contract markups and determine which issues are commercial in nature and which require legal involvement.
- Work collaboratively with legal teams while maintaining ownership of commercial decisions.
- Provide expert guidance to internal stakeholders on commercial terms, risk considerations, and contract structure.
- Draft, analyze, modify, and finalize various contract types including Material terms and conditions; Service agreements; IT and software contracts; Construction and maintenance contracts; Master Service Agreements (MSAs); and Lease & Property agreements.
- Ensure all contract documents meet organizational quality and compliance standards, are consistent, and free of errors.
- Conduct detailed self-reviews to eliminate quality issues such as incorrect clauses, mismatched commercial terms, and incomplete scopes.
- Act as the main point of contact for internal teams regarding sourcing or contractual matters.
- Support communication and alignment between Supply Chain, key internal stakeholders, and vendor representatives.
- Manage expectations and deadlines with excellent communication and follow-through.
- Handle a high volume of contracting activities while maintaining quality, accuracy, and cycle-time targets.
- Develop and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with vendors to ensure alignment on contractual obligations, resolve issues proactively, and support consistent delivery of goods and services in line with commercial, operational, and performance expectations.
- Identify opportunities to streamline, improve, or standardize processes.
- Uphold company policies, sourcing methodologies, and compliance requirements.
- Assist in resolving invoicing issues as required.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in contract analysis/administration, sourcing, procurement.
- Post-secondary education in Business, Supply Chain, Law, or related fields is required.
- Demonstrated accountability for end-to-end contracting, including issue resolution from origin through payment readiness.
- Strong experience drafting, negotiating, and managing all forms of contracts.
- Proven ability to distinguish between commercial vs. legal issues and escalating appropriately.
- High level of attention to detail and consistent self-checking; ability to identify and correct quality issues proactively.
- Strong sense of urgency with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent negotiation skills with experience conducting back-and-forth supplier negotiations.
- Proficiency with contract management systems (CMS) and ERP systems preferably D365 and Ivalua.
- Proficient in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Power BI, SharePoint etc.)
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with significant daily volume.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Oil & Gas/Pipeline operations and/or major projects environments is considered an asset.

- Position requires full-time in-office presence at the Calgary or Houston office.
