What will you do?
- Contributes to the definition of the cross-functional commodity strategy and implements the Supplier Quality management (SQM) strategy and SQM requirements related to supplier
- Drives active component portfolio management by Research & Development (R&D) consulting, Phase-out Management, new technology qualification, technical expertise and Design for Manufacturing (DFM) review
- Applies preventive quality methods aimed for risk reduction
- Initiates and releases new parts and manages them throughout their life cycle, ensuring their conformance to technical requirements. Reacts on suppliers’ product changes or discontinuations with appropriate measures
- Supports manufacturing relocation projects by setting up parts and approved suppliers for the destination location and supports market-oriented production
- Conducts incident and complaint management, to analyze and resolve nonconformances. Supports sustainable problem solving using root cause analysis methodology, e.g. 8D-methodology, etc.. Supports claim management towards suppliers (e.g. announcement, cost compilation)
- Coordinates and ensures material / component / service qualifications and approvals based on specific requirements/specification
- Contributes to (Product Development) projects through support/review of specifications and requirements
- Creates, negotiates and maintains Quality Assurance Agreements. Initiates and drives supplier quality performance, incoming inspection quality plans, continuous improvement and supplier development programs
- Expert in Continuous Improvement & Quality Assurance, e.g. drives Continuous Improvement Programs (CIPs), negotiates Quality Assurance Agreements, and implements preventive quality measures.
- Ensures consistent and appropriate communication with suppliers, with a focus on quality-related aspects
- Plans, initiates and supports/executes supplier audits, including follow-up of audit measures
- Onboards and releases manufacturers / suppliers as of the supplier lifecycle in cooperation with Procurement;
- Communicate to internal teams, e.g. R&D, procurement, project management, supplier management, operation & manufacturing, material planning etc.
What will you need to succeed?
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in supplier quality management, manufacturing, component engineering or industrial quality roles.
- Strong problem-solving mindset, especially experience in debugging simulation and applying root cause analysis methodology and preventive corrective actions.
- Able to work independently while also collaborating effectively in project teams
- Proficient in Supplier Quality Management (SQM) & Audits: Plans and executes supplier audits, manages supplier relationships, and applies SQM methods to achieve strategic quality goals.
- Advanced Non-Conformance & Risk Management: Establishes non-conformance processes, identifies/mitigates supply chain risks.
- Advanced Analytical & Digital Acumen: Solves complex problems, communicates effectively, and leverages digital tools for data analysis and process improvement in an agile environment.
- Thorough Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Statistical Process Control (SPC), Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), technical drawings, Ability to interpret technical drawings, and specifications.
- SAP and Teamcenter experience would be an advantage.
Salary: Salary is commensurate with experience, and base salary ranges between $ 85,000 CAD - $ 110,000 CAD, excluding benefits. In addition to base salary, this role includes eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus of 10% of base salary, based on Company performance metrics. .
