The Housing Division works to ensure Albertans have access to safe, affordable, and appropriate housing options that support strong and sustainable communities. With the housing division the Housing Capital Programs Branch provides strategic oversight and administration of provincial housing capital funding programs that support the development, renewal, and preservation of housing infrastructure across Alberta. Within the Branch, the Capital Maintenance and Renewal (CMR) Unit manages programs that fund the renewal and modernization of existing housing assets. Working closely with housing providers and internal stakeholders, the unit oversees funding allocations, project monitoring, reporting, and program administration to ensure public investments are managed effectively and housing assets remain safe, functional, and sustainable for Albertans.

As our Project Coordinator, you will act as a key liaison between internal and external stakeholders, helping coordinate communication, resolve issues, and keep program activities moving forward. You will monitor contract activities, identify concerns or deviations, and support the Program Manager in maintaining effective working relationships across all parties involved. You will assist with project and program controls by tracking financial information, monitoring project, and program performance, supporting reporting requirements, maintaining program documentation, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. You will also support the Capital Maintenance and Renewal Program through all stages of planning and implementation while helping ensure projects and program activities are delivered in accordance with approved scope, budget, schedule, quality standards, and applicable legislation, policies, and guidelines.
As a Project Coordinator within the Housing Division of Assisted Living and Social Services, you will report directly to the Capital Maintenance and Renewal (CMR) Program Manager and play a key role in supporting the administration and delivery of the Capital Maintenance and Renewal (CMR) Program. This position involves coordinating program activities, monitoring project, and funding information, supporting reporting processes, and helping ensure successful outcomes for housing providers and communities across the province.
Your responsibilities in this role will include, but will not be limited to:
- Project Planning and Initiation: You will support the planning phase of the CMR Program by reviewing project information, monitoring timelines and deliverables, coordinating stakeholder engagement activities, and supporting implementation planning
- Design, Construction, and Commissioning Oversight: You will participate in the review and monitoring of project activities to help ensure alignment with approved scope, budget, schedule, and program requirements, while coordinating input from various stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Contract and Financial Administration: You will support the Program Manager in contract management by reviewing and processing progress claims, assisting with financial controls, developing forecasting projections, and supporting comprehensive project and program reporting.
- Stakeholder Liaison and Communication: You will act as a primary point of contact, collaborating with and providing information to internal and external stakeholders to foster cooperation and ensure effective communication, including the development and dissemination of meeting minutes.
- Quality, Safety, and Compliance Assurance: You will support monitoring activities to help ensure project compliance with approved requirements, identify emerging risks or issues, coordinate information requests, and support resolution of deficiencies and corrective actions.

Minimum Recruitment Standards
Two-year technical diploma in Engineering (e.g. Civil, Architectural, Structural), Architecture, Architectural Technologies, Construction Management, Building Technology, Project Management (with an emphasis on infrastructure or capital projects), plus seven (7) years of related experience; or equivalent as described below.
Equivalency: Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of:
1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or
1 year of experience for 1 year of education
The following experience is required:
- Experience in capital project delivery and coordination, or
- Experience in construction management and supervision, or
- Experience in building design consulting, or
- Experience in facilities planning and management, or
- Experience in Contract Administration (within an infrastructure or construction context).
The following experience is considered as assets:
- Certified Construction Administrator (CCA) or Project Management Professional Certifications (PMP).
- Considerable related experience in related facility construction, capital project delivery, or infrastructure development.
- Experience preparing reports.
- Experience tracking budgets, commitments, expenditures, and funding allocations.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, SharePoint, Power BI, or other reporting tools.
- Experience maintaining databases, tracking systems, or performance measurement information.
The following experience will be given preference:
- Experience supporting capital maintenance, renewal, or modernization projects within public-sector, affordable housing, or similar infrastructure environments.
- Experience tracking budgets, forecasts, expenditures, commitments, and funding allocations for multiple concurrent capital projects.
- Experience reviewing project, contract, financial, or procurement documentation for alignment with approved scope, budget, schedule, and program requirements.
- Experience preparing reports, maintaining tracking systems, and using tools such as Microsoft Excel, SharePoint, or Power BI to support program delivery.

Hours of work are 08:15 AM to 04:30 PM, Monday to Friday. This is a full-time permanent position, working 36.25 hours per week.
