Make a Difference While You Travel
We're looking for a compassionate, motivated Optometric Assistant or Licensed Optician to join our mobile eye care team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys travel, thrives in a dynamic environment, and is passionate about improving access to vision care for underserved communities.
You'll travel approximately two weeks each month to remote First Nations communities throughout British Columbia, helping deliver comprehensive eye exam clinics alongside our optometrists. When not travelling, you'll assist with clinic preparation, follow-up, and administrative duties.

What You'll Do
- Assist the optometrist during mobile eye care clinics.
- Welcome patients and provide an exceptional customer experience.
- Perform pre-testing and prepare patients for eye examinations.
- Help patients select frames and lenses that suit their lifestyle and vision needs.
- Educate patients on lens options and eyewear products.
- Process eyewear orders and ensure accurate measurements.
- Set up and pack mobile clinic equipment.
- Travel throughout British Columbia for approximately two weeks each month.
- Build positive relationships with patients, community members, and local health partners.
What We're Looking For
- Experience as an Optometric Assistant, Optician, or in optical retail.
- Licensed Optician is an asset but not required.
- A genuine passion for helping people and improving access to quality vision care.
- Enthusiasm for optical sales and confidence recommending eyewear that best meets each patient's needs.
- A results-driven mindset with the motivation to exceed sales goals. Performance bonuses are available for achieving monthly eyewear sales targets.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable travelling extensively, including to remote First Nations communities throughout British Columbia.
- Organized, adaptable, and able to work independently.
- Provide COVID vaccination proof as an ability to travel throughout British Columbia.
