Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Full Time Optometric Assistant/Office Admin to join our busy eye care clinic. Prior experience in medical offices, especially within optometry or optical settings, is highly valued. This position involves managing patient interactions, administrative duties, and assisting with clinical tasks to ensure smooth clinic operations.
Duties
- Greet and check-in patients efficiently and professionally at the front desk
- Schedule appointments and manage patient flow using electronic medical records (EMR) systems
- Verify patient insurance information and update medical records accurately
- Assist patients with completing necessary paperwork and medical history forms
- Prepare exam rooms, assist with pre-testing procedures, and support optometrists during eye examinations
- Handle patient inquiries both in person and via phone or email
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient interactions and clinical notes in EMR
- Manage retail sales of eyewear and accessories, providing excellent customer service
- Perform administrative tasks including billing, coding, and follow-up appointments
- Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the office environment
Experience
- Prior experience working in a medical office setting is preferred, especially within optometry or ophthalmology practices
- Familiarity with electronic medical records systems or similar platforms is highly desirable
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to eye care is beneficial
- Experience with patient care, front desk operations, and retail sales enhances suitability for this role
- Optical experience or background in retail sales can be advantageous but is not mandatory
- Strong communication skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently are essential
- Experience working with pediatric and geriatric patients is a plus

Pay: $18.90-$21.50 per hour
