We are seeking an experienced, highly skilled Senior Landscaping Field Foreman to lead our growing field operations.
The ideal candidate will confidently supervise and coordinate a dedicated crew of field laborers, execute modern layout low-voltage landscape lighting, construct structural hardscapes, and ensure projects meet strict corporate and client standards.

Hourly rate: $38.40 hour

Key Responsibilities
- Supervise, train, and coordinate the daily activities, schedules, and safety protocols of a dedicated field crew of landscape laborers and technicians.
- Plan and estimate the materials, labor, and equipment requirements for individual landscaping contracts and day-to-day site operations.
- Establish work schedules and procedures, and coordinate physical site activities with operational managers and external subcontractors.
- Resolve work-related problems, address site inefficiencies, and prepare and submit daily progress reports to company management.
- Requisition supplies, tools, and plant materials required for daily project execution.
- Enforce safety regulations and ensure all field operations and physical structures flawlessly meet rigid company safety policies and provincial compliance standards.
- Consult professionally with clients and operations managers regarding field planning, progress, design adjustments, and botanical selections.
- Technical Installation & Hands-On Supervision (May perform same duties as supervised)
- Blueprint Interpretation: Accurately read, interpret, and translate complex landscape blueprints, structural scales, and technical layout designs into precise field construction configurations.
- Hard Landscaping Execution: Direct and oversee the construction of highly durable structural driveways, pathways, stairs, patios, and decks. Hands-on management of interlocking brick, fieldstone paths, concrete pouring, and structural stone/retaining walls.
- Soft Landscaping & Vegetation: Coordinate precise botanical installations, including strategic plant layout configurations, moving and planting heavy specimen trees, and maintaining private and public turf/gardens.
- Oversee and coordinate the layout of complex boulder arrangements, natural stone steps, and custom rock gardens.
- Irrigation Grid Oversight: Direct the overhaul, troubleshooting, and repair of existing strata irrigation grids; trace low-voltage 24V field wiring faults, service two-wire decoder systems, install master valves, and assemble professional manifolds.
- Smart Automation & Diagnostics: Program and calibrate digital cloud-based irrigation controllers (e.g., Hydrawise, Hunter, Rain Bird) to manage multi-zone water budgeting in alignment with Metro Vancouver municipal water restrictions.
Landscape Lighting Systems: Oversee layout, zoning, and professional installation of energy-efficient low-voltage (12V–24V) outdoor landscape lighting networks. Ensure precise voltage-drop calculations across long runs and integrate wiring paths seamlessly into structural hardscapes.
Employment Requirements
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate is required.Experience: Minimum of 3 to 5 years of proven, progressive, and verifiable experience in professional hardscape/softscape installation, low-voltage outdoor systems, and irrigation management. Experience in a leadership, supervisor, foreman, or lead-hand role in the landscaping industry is required. Understanding of landscape lighting design concepts and the ability to utilize a digital multimeter to accurately diagnose field voltage drops, line shorts, or poor connections.

- Physical Fitness: Physically demanding role requiring high manual dexterity, repetitive tasks, handling of heavy loads, and acute attention to detail. Demands a constant combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching, and kneeling.
Work Site Environment: The vast majority of work is done outdoors in highly diverse weather conditions (including extreme cold, rain, and hot summer weather) and frequently loud, noisy environments.
- Own Tools & Safety Equipment: Candidates are required to provide their own basic hand tools, steel-toed safety boots, certified hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, working gloves, and protective ear plugs.
