Job Title: Forklift Operator – Shipping and Receiving
Job Description
This role focuses on shipping and receiving operations in a fast-paced less-than-truckload (LTL) environment. You will operate both sit-down and stand-up forklifts to handle a wide variety of inventory, use RF scanners to manage stock accurately, and ensure safe and efficient movement of goods throughout the facility.
Responsibilities

Perform daily shipping and receiving activities, including loading and unloading trailers and trucks.

Operate sit-down and stand-up counterbalance forklifts for 100% of the shift to move, stack, and organize materials.

Use RF scanners to accurately enter, track, and verify inventory in the system.

Handle a wide range of inventory types, including palletized and non-palletized products, and safely manipulate them with the forklift.

Stage, sort, and prepare shipments according to LTL procedures and schedules.

Ensure all products are handled, stored, and transported in a safe and damage-free manner.

Follow Dangerous Goods and WHMIS procedures when handling regulated materials, once certified.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with facility standards.

Communicate clearly in English, both verbally and in writing, to follow instructions and complete documentation.

Collaborate with team members and other forklift operators to maintain efficient workflow and minimize delays.
Essential Skills-
Certified on a sit-down counterbalance forklift with a minimum of 1 year of experience.

Proficiency operating both sit-down and stand-up forklifts for continuous use throughout the shift.

Material handling experience in a warehouse or shipping and receiving environment.

Ability to use RF scanners to enter and manage inventory data accurately.

Ability to read and write in English to follow work instructions and complete required documentation.

Experience with loading and unloading trailers and trucks safely and efficiently.
Additional Skills & Qualifications-
Previous experience in an LTL (less-than-truckload) shipping environment is a strong asset.

Dangerous Goods certification (or willingness to obtain; certification support is available).

WHMIS certification (or willingness to obtain; certification support is available).

Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling and recording inventory.

Ability to work effectively in a high-traffic, fast-paced warehouse setting.

Work Environment
This role is based in a very fast-paced LTL shipping environment with a high volume of forklift traffic. You will spend your entire shift on a sit-down and stand-up forklift, working around multiple operators and moving equipment. The facility is focused on efficient movement of diverse types of inventory, including both palletized and non-palletized goods, and emphasizes safety, situational awareness, and adherence to warehouse procedures.
