Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Long Distance Class 1 Truck Driver to join our transportation team. This role involves operating commercial trucks over long distances to deliver freight efficiently and safely. The ideal candidate will possess strong driving skills, knowledge of heavy equipment operation, and a commitment to safety and timely deliveries. Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class 1 commercial trucks over long-distance routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Transport freight across various locations, ensuring timely and secure deliveries.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, including checking for mechanical issues and ensuring proper documentation.
- Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment when necessary, following safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, mileage records, and other required documentation.
- Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting as needed to ensure vehicle operability.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members regarding delivery schedules or issues encountered on routes.
- Operate heavy equipment safely when required for loading or unloading freight.
Skills
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for long-distance hauling.
- Experience in freight transportation and long-haul driving.
- Proficiency in forklift operation and heavy equipment handling.
- Knowledge of automotive repair basics for troubleshooting vehicle issues on the road.
- Ability to operate heavy machinery safely and efficiently.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and clients.
- Commitment to safety protocols and adherence to transportation regulations.
This position requires a dedicated professional capable of managing long-distance routes while maintaining high standards of safety, efficiency, and customer service.
Pay: $4,500.00-$8,000.00 per month
