Peace River School Division is seeking a highly motivated Part-Time (0.35 f.t.e.) Educational Assistant at Worsley Central School to provide targeted literacy and numeracy support to small groups of students in Grades 1-3. This position may also include working with students in grades 4-12 depending on the school needs and applicant qualifications. The position will commence on August 26, 2026 and continue to June 29, 2027.
Worsley is a small farming community in northern Alberta located about 170 kms west of Peace River. Worsley School serves students from grades K-12.
Qualifications:
- Educational Assistant Certificate or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
- Experience working directly with young children (Grades 1-3 preferred)

Experience and understanding of foundational literacy and numeracy concepts (e.g. phonics, phonological awareness, early number sense)
Skills:
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with teachers and district office Program Coordinators

A strong desire to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Ability to work independently.

The ability to work independently, manage small groups effectively, and follow structured intervention plans.

High level of commitment, accountability, and reliability.

This is a union position under the collective agreement between the
Rate of Pay:
$22.59 to $28.02 per hour (dependent on experience and education in accordance with the collective agreement between the CUPE Local 4839 and the Peace River School Division).
