POSITION OVERVIEW
Millennium Mechanical Contracting is seeking experienced Shaft Miners to join our growing underground mining and shaft rehabilitation team. Successful candidates will have experience working in underground mining environments with strong knowledge of shaft work, ground support, material handling, underground construction, and mine services.
This position involves work in active underground mining environments supporting shaft rehabilitation, infrastructure upgrades, loading pocket work, pump installations, structural installations, ore handling systems, and general underground mining operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform underground shaft rehabilitation and maintenance work
- Assist with loading pocket, station, and shaft bottom construction activities
- Install and maintain underground piping, pumps, valves, and mine services
- Conduct rigging and material handling operations
- Assist with structural steel and mechanical installations underground
- Perform scaling, ground support, and general underground labour activities
- Operate underground equipment safely and efficiently
- Follow all mine safety procedures, FLHAs, and site regulations
- Assist with shutdowns, maintenance projects, and infrastructure upgrades
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in safe working condition
- Work closely with supervisors, trades personnel, and client representatives
QUALIFICATIONS
- Underground mining experience required
- Shaft mining or shaft rehabilitation experience considered a strong asset
- Experience with underground construction and mine services
- Mechanical aptitude and underground troubleshooting abilities
- Experience with rigging, hoisting, and material handling
- Ability to work safely in high-risk underground environments
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work rotating shifts and remote site schedules
- Valid driver’s license preferred
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS
- Underground Common Core or equivalent (Preffered
- WHMIS
- Fall Protection
- Confined Space Entry
- Standard First Aid / CPR
- Lock Out / Tag Out (LOTO)
Additional certifications considered assets:
- Welding certifications
- Heavy equipment operation
- Elevated work platform
- Mine rescue awareness
- Supervisor training
