MINIMAL FORMAL EDUCATION REQUIRED:
- Undergraduate degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration or a related discipline.
- Knowledge of university regulations, programs and procedures as they relate to the function/program.
- Professional marketing designation or additional training in digital marketing would be considered an asset.
EXPERIENCE:
- Three years of directly-related administrative experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of directly related experience in marketing, communications, digital marketing or a related field is required.
- Demonstrated experience developing and executing integrated marketing campaigns across digital, web, social media and other channels is required.
- Experience managing marketing projects from planning through execution and evaluation, including coordinating timelines, budgets, vendors and stakeholders is required.
- Experience with paid digital advertising platforms such as Meta, LinkedIn and YouTube.
- Experience using marketing analytics and performance data to evaluate campaigns and make recommendations is required.
- Experience developing and editing marketing content for digital, web, email and print channels.
- Experience working with external agencies, creative partners and vendors.
- Experience with website content management systems, email marketing platforms and social media management tools is required
- An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Strong knowledge of integrated marketing principles, digital marketing practices and current industry trends is required.
- Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines is required.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret marketing data and translate insights into recommendations are required.
- Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills are required.
- Knowledge of audience segmentation, paid media, campaign optimization and digital marketing analytics is required.
- Understanding of UX/UI principles and their application to websites and digital experiences is required.
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills are required.
- Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners is required.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain brand and editorial standards are required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and relevant marketing, analytics, email, social media and content management platforms are required.
- A satisfactory work record, including satisfactory attendance and punctuality, is required.
Marketing Strategy, Campaigns and Project Management:
- Develops multichannel marketing strategies that include print, digital, web and other platforms.
- Leads marketing projects from concept through to completion, including project planning, timelines, budgets, deliverables and evaluation.
- Develops project briefs, objectives, target audiences, key messages, creative requirements and performance measures.
- Provides strategic marketing recommendations to the Marketing Manager, directors, faculty leadership and other stakeholders.
- Develops marketing strategies based on market research, audience insights, competitive analysis and emerging trends.
- Conducts research into current marketing practices, technologies, channels and trends and provides recommendations to stakeholders.
- Gathers, monitors and analyzes marketing performance data across digital platforms and provides recommendations for campaign optimization and future planning.
- Manages multiple concurrent marketing projects with competing priorities, deadlines, audiences and stakeholders.
- Develops reports and tracks progress against marketing objectives, timelines and key performance indicators.
- Applies UX/UI principles to recruitment-focused websites, landing pages and digital experiences to improve usability, engagement and conversion.
- Acts as a liaison between the Asper Marketing Communications team and key stakeholders across the School and University.
- Coordinates projects with external creative, media and external vendors.
- Works collaboratively with department coordinators and staff responsible for marketing and digital initiatives across the Asper School.
- Ensures marketing initiatives are consistent with Asper and University brand standards.
Digital Advertising, Paid Media:
- Develops and executes digital strategies to support student recruitment, events and program promotion.
- Plans, implements and optimizes paid campaigns across platforms including Meta, LinkedIn and YouTube.
- Develops audience targeting and segmentation strategies based on recruitment priorities and audience insights.
- Works with media agencies and external partners to develop and implement media plans.
- Responsible for monitoring campaign performance and recommending adjustments to achieve established marketing objectives and performance targets.
- Uses campaign data and analytics to optimize advertising performance and make recommendations for future campaigns.
- Evaluates emerging digital advertising platforms and opportunities to reach priority audiences.
Ensures advertising creative, messaging and landing page experiences are aligned with campaign objectives.
Marketing Content:
- Writes, proofreads and edits marketing content across digital, print and web channels.
- Works collaboratively with the Asper graphic designer and writer to create compelling content that is in alignment with the Asper and University brand.
- Supports the development and execution of email marketing initiatives using Mailchimp.
- Schedules and publishes approved social media content supporting marketing campaigns and initiatives.
- Completes website content updates related to marketing, recruitment event and program promotion and identifies and flags outdated or inaccurate content.
Proofreads marketing and communications materials to ensure brand, editorial and messaging consistency.
Administration:
- Supports special events through the development and coordination of marketing initiatives and materials.
- Provides photography and videography support to the Asper Marketing and Communications team, as required.
- Maintains the School's digital photo, marketing and communications asset libraries.
- Provides production and project support for priority marketing and communications initiatives.
- Maintains documentation related to marketing projects, campaigns and activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned or required.
