Overview

Our client, a well-established, privately held family-owned organization in Windsor, Ontario, is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to oversee the day-to-day accounting and financial activities across a diverse group of related entities.

This is a unique opportunity for a hands-on finance professional who enjoys owning the full accounting cycle and working within a smaller, relationship-driven environment. The successful candidate will be someone who can confidently manage multiple priorities while keeping processes organized, practical, and efficient.

Responsibilities

Accounting & Financial Management

Manage full-cycle accounting and bookkeeping across multiple related entities.

Banking & Treasury

Monitor day-to-day banking activity across multiple entities.
Coordinate transfers and movement of funds between Canadian and U.S. accounts.
Support CAD/USD foreign exchange transactions and funding requirements.
Maintain appropriate banking and treasury controls.

Billing, Receivables & Payroll

Manage and oversee billing, accounts receivable, and collections where required.
Support tenant billing for commercial real estate and healthcare-related entities.
Coordinate straightforward payroll administration for a small group of salaried and part-time employees.
Ensure payroll-related remittances and records are accurate and completed on time.

Compliance & Year-End

Coordinate Canadian and U.S. accounting and tax requirements with external accountants and advisors.
Support GST/HST and other applicable government reporting requirements.
Maintain accurate documentation and records across all entities.
Support year-end financial reporting and working-paper preparation.

Charitable Foundation

Support the financial administration of a privately held charitable foundation.
Maintain appropriate financial records and reporting.
Assist with board documentation and financial information as required.
Coordinate year-end reporting and regulatory requirements with external accountants and advisors.

Team & Process Improvement

Help establish a clear and sustainable division of responsibilities within the finance function.
Identify opportunities to simplify processes and improve efficiency.
Serve as a trusted liaison between ownership, banks, accountants, auditors, legal counsel, and other external advisors.
Maintain accurate general ledger records and supporting documentation.
Complete bank, credit card, investment, loan, and intercompany reconciliations.
Prepare and review financial statements, cash-flow information, and management reporting.
Monitor account activity, identify discrepancies, and resolve reconciling items.
Prepare year-end working papers and coordinate with external accountants.
Maintain accounting records using Sage.
Support budgeting and cash-flow planning across the organization.

Requirements:

3-5 years of progressive, hands-on accounting, bookkeeping, or financial management experience.
General ledger
Bank and account reconciliations
Financial statements
Cash-flow management
Banking and treasury
Year-end working papers
Experience managing multiple priorities, accounts, business units, or legal entities.
Strong working knowledge of Sage and Microsoft Excel.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities.
Demonstrated employment stability and a history of building long-term relationships with employers.
High degree of integrity, discretion, and confidentiality.
Ability to work on-site in Windsor, Ontario.

Pay: $85,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
