Children and Youth Coordinator
Grace Anglican Church, Waterdown, Ontario seeks an energetic, progressive, experienced person to become our Children and Youth Coordinator. This position will be regular part-time, beginning at 10 hours per week, requiring evening and weekend work with some flexibility with scheduling.
The Children and Youth Coordinator will provide the vision, structure, and coordination necessary to develop, support, and administer a holistic program of spiritual development for the children and youth of Grace Church and its community.
Specific responsibilities include:
· Working with parish leaders to develop and implement a comprehensive curriculum addressing the spiritual formation needs from infancy through to teenage years.
· Collaborating with parish volunteers and provide training and support where necessary, and further developing the volunteer base.
· Attending and engaging with children, youth, and family ministry events on a regular basis.
· Supporting and/or providing Sunday programming.
· Introducing a stand-alone church service for children and youth.
· Delivering confirmation classes.
· Creating a Children’s Choir, if deemed feasible.
· Providing and/or sharing in the leadership of organizing and executing major events, such as the annual Community Fun Zone.
· Serving as marketing and communications coordinator for all children, youth, and family ministry programs.
· Periodic attendance at Parish Council to present updates on children and youth programming issues.
The successful candidate must have:
· A sincere faith in God and a commitment to Christian faith and service.
· A passion for inspiring children, youth, and families.
· In-depth knowledge of Anglican liturgy and tradition.
· An undergraduate degree.
· Exceptional organizational and leadership skills, including delegation and group facilitation.
· A keen willingness to collaborate with other local churches.
· First aid certification, or willingness to be sent for training.
· Access to reliable transportation.
· The ability to provide a Police Records Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening prior to beginning employment if selected.
