Simolo Customs Ltd. – Spallumcheen, BC
Starting at $35.00/hour + Full Benefits
Full-Time | Monday–Thursday
Simolo Customs is a Canadian manufacturer of premium electric vehicles, and we're looking for an experienced automotive painter to take the lead in our paint department.
This is a hands-on production painting position. We're looking for someone who takes pride in laying down an exceptional finish and knows how to work efficiently in a production environment.
Unlike a traditional collision shop, you'll be working primarily with new plastic body panels and components that are assembled to create complete vehicle bodies — no collision damage, no insurance repairs and no trying to match 10-year-old paint.
What You'll Do
- Spray automotive basecoat/clearcoat finishes on new plastic body panels and components
- Produce consistent, high-quality finishes while maintaining production targets
- Identify and correct paint defects and process issues
- Work with paint-prep staff to keep body panels and components flowing efficiently through the department
- Oversee proper paint mixing, booth setup and application procedures
- Maintain paint equipment and a clean, organized booth
- Help establish efficient processes and quality standards within the department
- Provide guidance and training to developing paint staff
What We're Looking For
- Strong automotive painting experience is required
- Proven ability to consistently produce high-quality automotive finishes
- Comfortable working in a production environment where both quality and efficiency matter
- Strong knowledge of paint preparation, mixing, application and defect correction
- Able to troubleshoot issues including runs, orange peel, contamination and other finish defects
- Red Seal certification is an asset, but demonstrated painting ability and experience matter more
- Reliable, organized and takes ownership of their work
Compensation & Benefits
- Starting wage: $35.00/hour
- Full benefits package
- Full-time, permanent position
- Monday–Thursday work week
- Consistent manufacturing environment
- Opportunity to take ownership of an important department within a growing Canadian manufacturer
Why Simolo Customs?
We're not a collision shop.
You'll be painting brand-new plastic body panels and components that make up electric vehicles built right here in British Columbia. Our vehicles range from premium golf and resort vehicles to commercial utility vehicles and Transport Canada-compliant low-speed vehicles.
We're looking for someone who wants to come in, paint every day, produce exceptional work and help us build a world-class paint department.
If you're an experienced automotive painter who is tired of collision work and wants to apply your skills in a clean manufacturing environment, we'd like to hear from you.
Apply with your resume and a brief description of your automotive painting experience. Photos of previous paint work are also welcome.
