This is a marketing role, not a sales role. As the Growth Marketing & AI Automation Manager, you will generate qualified employer leads for the sales team at Just Sales Jobs, a sales recruitment firm placing sales talent for employers across Canada and the United States. You will market recruitment services to business owners, Presidents, CEOs, VPs of Sales, Sales Directors, and HR and Talent Acquisition leaders at employers ranging from small businesses to enterprise, across all industries. The role covers demand generation and channel execution alongside marketing automation, content, and analysis. You will work closely with sales leadership, who own the introductory meetings and the engagements that follow — this role generates the leads and hands them across. Leads are generated through outbound email, paid search and paid social, SEO and inbound search, visibility in AI assistants, and referrals. The market is the Greater Toronto Area, where the majority of the client base sits today, and the United States, where the company is expanding rapidly and where the largest growth opportunity lies. This is a fully remote role, ideally filled by a candidate living in the Greater Toronto Area. This is a newly created position reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, with a seat on the leadership team and no direct reports. The base salary is CAD $100,000 – $120,000, plus an annual performance bonus.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
• CAD $100,000 – $120,000 base salary, depending on experience and demonstrated capability
• Yearly bonus of up to 15% of base salary
• This is a full-time contract position, designed to be long-term — there is no end date or sunset built into it
• Year 1 OTE at full bonus attainment: CAD $115,000 – $138,000
• Fully remote role; candidates living in the Greater Toronto Area preferred
• Four weeks of vacation
• Seat on the leadership team, reporting directly to the CEO
THE COMPANY & CULTURE
Just Sales Jobs is a boutique sales recruitment firm founded in 2018, headquartered in Mississauga, Ontario, in the Greater Toronto Area, and placing talent for employers across Canada and the United States. The company recruits sales and customer-facing roles exclusively, and is industry agnostic — it places into any sector, for employers ranging from small businesses to Fortune 500 organizations. It is privately held and founder-led by Bryan Payne, Chief Talent Scout and CEO, who has more than thirty years of experience building businesses and hiring sales teams and who wrote How to Hire Top Sales Talent (available on Amazon: https://bit.ly/4hve7bC ). The team is eight people, six of whom are recruiters, and the company is looking to at minimum double its staff within the next ten months.
The company has grown fourfold since its first year and more than seventy percent of its business comes from repeat clients. After operating successfully as a boutique agency, it has made the decision to scale, and is now putting in the layers of infrastructure and leadership required to do that aggressively. This role is part of that build.
Its established base is in the Greater Toronto Area. It has expanded into the United States and is growing there rapidly — the U.S. market is the single largest growth opportunity in front of the business, and building demand there is a central part of this role.
The company’s mission is to deliver high-quality candidates quickly. It is a leader in applying AI technology to recruiting and is deliberately at the front of that curve, continually looking for ways to shorten and improve the process through technology, workflow, and process design. That is the reason this role exists.
The company is remote-first. The team is small, the reporting line to the CEO is direct, and there is no layer between this role and the decision. The culture values accountability, practical thinking, quality of work, and continuous improvement.

OFFICE LOCATION & SALES TERRITORY
• Head office: Mississauga, Ontario, in the Greater Toronto Area
• Work arrangement: fully remote. Ideally the candidate lives in the Greater Toronto Area
• Established market: the Greater Toronto Area and Southern Ontario, where the majority of current clients are located
• Growth market: the United States — an active and rapidly expanding market, and the largest growth opportunity for the business. Building demand in the U.S. is a primary focus of this role
• Hours: Monday to Friday, standard business hours. No evening or weekend requirement
• Overnight travel: less than 5%
EXPERIENCE, BACKGROUND & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Required:
• 5 or more years of B2B marketing experience across growth marketing, demand generation, digital marketing, or marketing operations, in an environment with a considered sale
• Deep outbound email experience: sequence design, list building, segmentation, personalization, testing, reply handling, and copy written personally
• Deliverability expertise, with sending infrastructure run personally rather than by a vendor: domain strategy, inbox provisioning and warming, SPF, DKIM, DMARC, sender reputation, bounce and complaint management, and inbox placement monitoring
• Automation build experience: workflows built rather than tools used that contained automation features. You can describe what you built, what it replaced, and what failed the first time
• AI tooling experience beyond content generation: you have built or configured something that runs without ongoing manual involvement
• Accountability for pipeline outcomes rather than campaign delivery — responsibility for what campaigns produced, not that they shipped
• Hands-on paid media experience across Google Ads and Meta (Facebook and Instagram): campaign build, audience targeting, creative testing, budget management, and accountability for cost per qualified lead
• Ad creative production: static assets, short-form video, and copy variants, produced personally and iterated at volume
• Business writing for a North American audience, adapted for executives, HR leaders, sales leaders, employers, and candidates
• Hands-on experience with Clay or similar software — enrichment, waterfall data, and signal-based list building
• SEO experience, whether executed personally or by directing an agency, plus working knowledge of website conversion and digital analytics
• CRM administration in Pipedrive, HubSpot, Salesforce, or similar: custom fields, pipelines, funnel reporting, and source attribution
• Video production capability: scripting, filming, editing, and captions
• Ability to build client-facing sales presentation materials to a professional standard
• Experience managing vendors, agencies, contractors, and data providers
• Ability to work independently in a remote company, with no marketing team above or below this role
Preferred:
• A post-secondary degree
• Living in the Greater Toronto Area
• WordPress sites built personally, rather than content edited within someone else’s build
• Background in recruitment, staffing, professional services, SaaS, or consultative B2B services
• Experience as the first or only marketer in a company
• Experience marketing to small and mid-sized business owners, CEOs, HR leaders, and sales executives
• Experience supporting both Canadian and United States markets

THE PRODUCT / SERVICE / SOLUTION
We recruit sales roles across all industries, from entry level through to VP of Sales, as well as any customer-facing role — customer service, sales support, and sales analytics.
PROSPECTIVE CUSTOMERS / INDUSTRY FOCUS / DECISION MAKER(S)
• Employers hiring sales and customer-facing talent, ranging from small businesses through mid-market to enterprise, including Fortune 500 organizations
• Industry agnostic — the firm recruits across all industries rather than specializing in a set of verticals
• Geographic focus: the Greater Toronto Area and Southern Ontario for the established client base, and the United States as the primary growth market
• Decision-makers: business owners, Presidents, CEOs, VPs of Sales, Sales Directors, and HR and Talent Acquisition leaders
COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGES
• Specialization in sales and customer-facing roles rather than generalist recruitment, while remaining industry agnostic
• More than seventy percent repeat client business
• A documented hiring methodology, published by the CEO as How to Hire Top Sales Talent
• A highly structured recruiting approach that goes well beyond forwarding resumes
• Delivery coverage in both Canada and the United States, with an established GTA client base to reference into the U.S. market
TYPICAL DAY & DUTIES
• Demand generation — target list building and enrichment, outbound email sequences and copy, nurture and follow-up programs, sending infrastructure and deliverability management
• Paid media, website, SEO, and AI-search — Google Ads and Meta campaigns, WordPress page and landing page builds for justsalesjobs.ca and justsalesjobs.com, SEO strategy and execution, and visibility in AI assistants and answer engines
• Marketing automation and AI — identifying repeated manual work across marketing, sales administration, and reporting, and building automation against it, including duplicate data entry between systems; documenting automations, quality controls, and exception handling
• Content and creative — ad creative in static, short-form video, and copy variants; blogs, newsletters, landing page copy, case studies, and client-facing sales presentation materials
• Analytics, reporting, budget, and vendor management — A/B testing with recorded hypotheses and results, reporting on leads, lead quality, signed engagements, source attribution, cost per qualified lead and ROI, and management of agencies, contractors, and technology vendors
You will also work directly with sales leadership on target market definition, messaging, lead qualification standards, and objection handling, and ensure qualified leads are transferred to sales quickly, accurately, and with source attribution.
LEADS
• Seven years of campaign and conversion history to work from
• Existing lead generation programs
• Inbound search traffic to the Canadian and United States websites
• New lead generation is the direct responsibility of this role. The outbound and paid programs will be built, executed, and improved by you
OVERNIGHT TRAVEL
• Less than 5%
• Travel is for company meetings, training, and occasional trade shows. Day-to-day work does not require travel
SUPPORT & TRAINING
• Direct onboarding from the CEO
• Full access to campaign history, vendor relationships, and current programs
• A documented 30-60-90 day plan, mutually developed and agreed upon with the CEO, covering baseline, growth plan, and first automation build
• Quarterly performance reviews with the CEO against agreed measures
• Existing vendors and contractors are available to resource areas where you are light while you get up to speed
• There is no formal classroom training program. This is a senior role expected to operate independently from the start
WHY YOU SHOULD APPLY
• Full ownership of a function with direct impact on company revenue, reporting to the CEO with a seat on the leadership team and no layer between the work and the decision
• Marketing has been run at a maintenance level while the business focused on delivery. The available improvement is large, measurable, and yours to capture
• A highly progressive company that is open to trying new technologies and processes. The first principle is to deliver high-quality candidates quickly, and this is not a bureaucracy — good ideas get tried. The automation mandate extends across the whole company, not marketing alone, with sales administration, reporting, and duplicate data entry between systems all in scope
• Fully remote, with an annual performance bonus on top of base
• A largely open U.S. market to build demand in — the company is expanding there rapidly and it is the largest growth opportunity in the business. You would be building that programme rather than maintaining one, inside a company already in a growth phase: fourfold growth since its first year and a growing recruiting team
HOW TO APPLY
Send your resume along with a short note answering one question: describe a workflow you automated — what it was, what tool you used, what it replaced, and what went wrong the first time.
