The successful candidate will be required to teach a variety of courses in the Medical Laboratory Assistant and Medical Laboratory Technology programs at the North campus. Instruction may include theory and laboratory courses from all 5 laboratory disciplines, as well as foundational areas such as mathematics, communication, and professionalism, and may also involve supporting students in practicum preparation and evaluation.The incumbent will engage in a variety of activities that support teaching and learning and promote student success including: curriculum development; lesson planning; assessing student progress and achievement; and class management. Beyond their teaching duties, the successful candidate will be expected to establish an effective learning environment and work as a collaborative team member contributing to the overall direction of the program. In addition, the candidate may, from time to time, be called upon to contribute to student recruitment and the promotion and marketing of the program. These activities will require that the incumbent assist in the development and maintenance of strong industry connections and community partnerships. Lastly, the incumbent will be expected to participate on Humber Polytechnic and departmental committees and advance college initiatives including research.

Education
A Bachelor’s degree is required; a Master’s degree is preferred.
Experience/Skills
The ideal candidate must have a minimum of five years of experience as a Medical Laboratory Technologist. Experience in teaching and training within adult education is strongly preferred. Candidates must hold active licensure with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO).
