The Role:
As Junior Sous Chef, you will play an important role in the kitchen's success, working closely with the Executive Chef and Culinary Director. You will help oversee day-to-day kitchen operations, support menu execution and food quality standards, and contribute to a positive, high-performing kitchen culture. This role is ideal for a motivated cook looking to develop their leadership skills while delivering consistently exceptional guest experiences.
You will:
- Support the culinary management team in the day-to-day operation of the kitchen
- Work on the line during service, leading by example and helping to ensure smooth, efficient execution during busy periods
- Maintain composure and make effective decisions in a fast-paced service environment
- Assist with training, coaching, and motivating kitchen team members
- Help maintain consistency, quality, and execution across all menu items
- Monitor prep levels, station organization, and service readiness
- Uphold food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards at all times
- Assist with inventory management, ordering, and waste reduction initiatives
- Contribute to a positive, respectful, and high-performing kitchen culture
- Step into leadership responsibilities when senior kitchen leaders are absent
- Continuously seek opportunities to learn, grow, and develop your culinary and leadership skills

What You Bring:
- 1+ years of leadership experience in a high-volume, fast-paced kitchen environment
- Proven ability to drive food quality, team development, and operational efficiency
- Strong understanding of food cost control, labour management, and kitchen systems
- Confident leadership, clear communication, and decisive problem-solving skills
- A hands-on approach with a genuine passion for food, hospitality, and team culture
- Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced, seasonal environment
- Flexibility with your availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
