Responsibilities:
Recruitment and HR
- Recruitment Strategy Development: Assist in designing and implementing Presteve’s recruitment strategy to attract and retain top talent.
- Procedural Consistency: Develop and maintain standardized recruitment procedures to ensure consistency across the organization.
- Candidate Tracking and Analysis: Monitor candidate applications and feedback to identify and address potential hiring barriers.
- Collaboration with Hiring Managers: Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and job requirements, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Interviewing and Screening: Conduct preliminary screenings and interviews (via phone, Teams, or in-person) and provide a shortlist of qualified candidates to hiring managers.
- Compliance and Engagement: Communicate with stakeholders to ensure compliance with Human Resources and Health and Safety regulations.
- Onboarding and Training Management: Oversee the onboarding process and track compliance with yearly training requirements for HR and Health & Safety.
- Performance Review Support: Assist managers in the completion and management of performance reviews.
- Job Descriptions and Postings: Develop job descriptions and hiring scorecards as required, and post job openings on appropriate platforms.
- File Audits and Compliance: Audit and complete employee files to ensure adherence to regulatory standards.
- Recruiting Events Participation: Represent Presteve at recruitment events and collaborate with employment centers and services.
- Compensation Analysis: Perform bi-weekly wage searches to ensure competitive compensation practices.
- Recruitment Reporting: Track and report on weekly recruitment activities and outcomes.
- Assessment Development: Create pre-employment assessments to ensure candidates are well-suited for the roles.
- Agency Coordination: Oversee external agencies, ensuring that all training and documentation requirements are met.
- Documentation and Policy Updates: Review and update HR/recruitment documents to ensure consistency with Presteve’s Document Control policy.
- Job Offers and New Hire Documentation: Prepare and finalize job offers, ensuring all new hire documentation is completed.
- Reference Checks: Conduct thorough reference checks prior to extending job offers.
- Document Management: Upload employee information and documents into Citation Canada/HRDownloads.
- Social Committee Involvement: Actively participate in the planning and execution of social committee activities.
· Day-to-Day HR Support: Provide support for various HR activities as needed.
Health and Safety Management:
- Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with all health and safety legislation and regulations.
- Training Oversight: Track and manage Health and Safety training requirements, ensuring that all employees complete necessary training.
- Incident Reporting: Oversee the process for reporting and investigating workplace incidents and accidents, ensuring timely and accurate documentation.
- Safety Audits: Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Policy Development: Assist in the development and implementation of health and safety policies and procedures, ensuring they are up-to-date and compliant with legal standards.
- Emergency Preparedness: Participate in the planning and execution of emergency response drills and ensure that emergency procedures are well-communicated to employees.
- JHSC Participation: Actively participate in Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) meetings and contribute to safety-related initiatives and discussions.
- Policy Adherence: Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures.
- Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
● 3-5 years within a Health and Safety
● College / University degree in applicable field
● Highly proficient in Microsoft Office
● Leadership and team management skills
● Strong knowledge of OSHA and other applicable legislation
● Ability to problem solve in a challenging, fast-paced environment
● Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
● Strong communication skills, both written and oral (Spanish considered an asset)
● Ability to problem solve and make decisions
● Previous knowledge and expertise within the industry considered an asset
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
