The Housekeeping/Laundry Aide plays a key role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment where residents feel comfortable and respected. This position supports residents’ health, dignity, and quality of life through reliable, detail-oriented work.

Qualifications
- Grade 12 education preferred
- Training and experience in basic housekeeping and cleaning skills an asset
- Experience working effectively as part of a team preferred
- Good physical health and fitness appropriate to the role (including standing, lifting, bending, and walking)
Key Responsibilities
- Complete all aspects of housekeeping services within the Home, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and safety.
- Identify departmental needs and make recommendations for improvement.
- Promote teamwork, positive public relations, and respect in all interactions.
- Provide courteous and compassionate service to residents, visitors, coworkers, and physicians.
Primary Duties
- Clean, mop, scrub, and sweep floors, stairways, and halls; polish and buff floors as scheduled.
- Wash walls, doors, windows, and fixtures as required.
- Dust and polish furniture, mirrors, light fixtures, and equipment.
- Maintain washrooms and locker rooms in a clean and sanitary condition; restock supplies as needed.
- Empty trash and replace liners as required.
- Clean resident rooms thoroughly, including disinfecting bathrooms, dusting furniture and fixtures, and washing surfaces.
- Maintain positive relations with all departments and team members.
- Clean blinds, drinking fountains, and other fixtures as assigned.
- Label new linen and residents’ clothing as required.
- Report repair or maintenance needs promptly.
- Requisition cleaning supplies when needed.
- Perform other related or assigned duties as required.
