Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Warehouse Associate (Casual) to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for handling incoming shipments, organizing stock, and accurately preparing customer orders for dispatch. You will play a key role in keeping our supply chain moving smoothly while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe workspace.
Job Tasks
Receiving: Offload delivery trucks, inspect incoming items for damage, and verify item counts against packing slips.
Stowage: Unpack materials and store inventory systematically on designated shelves, racks, or pallets.
Picking: Retrieve items specified on digital work orders or paper picklists accurately from the warehouse floor.
Packing: Wrap, box, label, and securely prepare customer orders according to quality standards.
Inventory Control: Scan products into the warehouse management system and participate in routine cycle counts.
Equipment Operation: Safely use pallet jacks and forklifts to transport goods.
Skills
- Prior experience in warehouse distribution, shipping & receiving, or related fields
- Mechanical knowledge for operating forklifts, cranes, clamp trucks, and other heavy equipment
- Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS) for order processing and inventory control
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Skilled in order picking, load & unload procedures, and general warehouse tasks
- Construction or heavy equipment operation experience is a plus
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications
Education and Training: High School Graduation or student
Technical Literacy: Basic familiarity with computers, hand-held RF inventory scanners, or order picking software.
Core Competencies: Strong attention to detail, basic mathematical skills for accurate counting, and clear verbal communication skills.
Experience: Prior experience in a distribution center, manufacturing facility, or warehouse setting is a strong asset.
